Our Story

Perspectives on Anarchist Theory has been published by the Institute for Anarchist Studies since 1997. Each issue includes recent essays by IAS-supported writers, feature articles with anarchist views on contemporary issues, book reviews, and updates about IAS activities. Perspectives is both a print and an online journal, with new articles continually posted on our website, so check back often for new content. The print edition, with cover design by Josh McPhee and art curation by Roger Peet, both of Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative, comes out annually, and is available from AK Press and local bookstores and info shops.
