The unknown female has been identified and family has been made aware. We’d like to thank everyone for your help and for sharing this post.
In the early morning hours of August 28, 2024 officers were dispatched to a call of a vehicle-pedestrian accident by the overlook in Wounded Knee, where a female was struck by a vehicle. Everybody was still on scene when the officers arrive, the female struck was unconscious. She did not have an ID on her and officers are unable to identify her. Officers did check some of the surrounding residences in hopes of identifying the unknown female with no luck. She does have a tattoo of roman numerals on her left inner forearm. We are asking the public with help in identifying her.
This afternoon at 12 noon mtn standard. KILI Radio‘s very own, Tom Casey will be talking with Amanda takes War Bonnet about the upcoming Bear Creek Powwow. He’ll have several other guests to join the conversation.

- 10AM - 5K walk/run sign ups
- 12:00PM - Set up & Honoring the Ground
Food shack and preparations, program booths, parade sign up and line-up) and start sign ups for Volleyball Tournament (free entry with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, also same prize places for Handgame Tournament.
Indian Horse Relay at the Rodeo grounds.
- 3:00PM- Parade
Start (from (OST) Chief of Staff Office Turn-off, ending at the corner four-way by the (OST) Higher Education Program), there will be three (3) categories: Best War Party Theme, Most Traditional, and Best Horse Display, Eyapaha will be Chris Eagle Hawk, Judges will be delegated by a random pool of Tribal Director’s, there will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place in each category in the amount of 1st: 300.00; 2nd place: 200.00, and 3rd place: 100.00.
- 5:00PM - Wocekiye, and Welcoming Eyapaha, Chris Eagle Hawk
OST President, Frank Star Comes Out
Host Drum group to sing Victory Songs, and Horse Round Up for Victory Circle on POW WOW Grounds, and honoring the NACA Okolakiciye
Program Booths will be set up for the public, this will consist of various service program within the reservation as a great way to help the public become familiar with programs and program outreach,

Hosted by BUCHES FOOD
Scotti Clifford will play live music from 7PM-9PM
Family and Children Activities will be available.
- 9:00PM - Public Fireworks Display
Security will be provided by (OST) Security program. Grounds will be maintained and sprayed along for Fire dangers by B.I.A Fire Department.
“Porta Potties” along with Handicap Accessibility/ Tent/ Chairs willl be available.
Traffic Control and Direction by the (OST) Department of Public Safety
Transit will provide transportation to the public during this event, there will be coordinated efforts for Transit Pick-up locations and drop-off, in designated areas. General Public are to call the transit office the Friday prior to event to coordinate the runs for this event (605) 867-2332.
