To my Pennsylvania friends... between now and mid-June, please contact your State Legislators to move forward on the bill to increase the PA Tax Credit (or rebate) from $100 to $300 million dollars... stress that it increases jobs, increases tax base, brings notoriety to the state, but most importantly, it has brought in over $2 billion dollars in Economic Impact for our fine state over the years. Went to the state Capitol yesterday with many in the film industry rallying to increase the PA Film Tax Crednit from $100 million to $300 million dollars. This would bring in many more films and television shows to our state and it creates more jobs! If you live in PA please email your reprsentatives for the next four weeks to lobby for this increase! It will increase more film and TV productions and create more jobs! Who doesn't love the awesome films from the Coen Brothers: Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona, O Brother Where Art Thou, No Country For Old Men, and many more... For the last six months of 2022 Writer/Director Ethan Coen has been at 3 Rivers Studios making his latest film, "Drive-Away Dolls" starring Margaret Qualley, Beanie Feldstein, Matt Damon, among others. It was an absolute joy to watch Ethan work as a Director plying his craft with his amazing cast and talented crew. They were so organized and efficient they shot the entire movie in 35 days! Many, many thanks to Ethan, his partner Tricia Cooke (co-Writer/Editor), Producer Bob Graf and UPM, Karen Getchell and the entire crew for being so delightful and awesome! The film is set to be released in theaters September 22, 2023! Can't wait to see it on the big screen!

Great news to our industry!!!

PA FILM TAX CREDIT GROWS TO $100M

Our over 20,000 Pennsylvanians and hundreds of local small businesses that rely on this industry are overjoyed with the support from the Commonwealth and are looking forward to another record-breaking year for film and tv production.

In 2021, southwestern PA’s economic impact from film and tv production doubled to over $300 Million to the regions’ economy, (based on the reports from the 11 projects that filmed last year).

The Pennsylvania film industry is once again leading the way, by creating the first and only one of its kind program that carved out $5M for Pennsylvania-produced independent film projects. It is hoped that these local, small, artistic endeavors will help train and give opportunity to new workers for the burgeoning industry.

2022 is in target for another amazing year of productions including: Paramount’s MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN, Netflix’s DELIVERANCE, and the return of AMERICAN RUST, on Freevee. There are several other projects including both feature films and tv series that have applied to work in the region this year. We will announce these projects as soon as everything is finalized.

Bidding farewell to juju leaving our Steelers and heading to KC. Spent a memorable day with him at 3 Rivers Studios when he did one television commercial in the morning, then in the afternoon he did a photo shoot for Oakley. I remember during filming breaks, he would ride his bicycle around the studio. At the end of the day, he rode his bike right up to me, slammed on the brakes, all excited because he loved all the space in the studio and he said, "Hey, do you think I could have my birthday party here?" And, I said, "Absolutley, juju!!! You can have anything here!" He smiled and rode off. And, it quickly dawned on me, he's a fully-grown man, but, he's really still just a kid... at 19 or 20 years old! What a great young man with a great future!! Wishing him all the best with the Chiefs!! (Some photos of that shoot day, along with a special photo of the incredible juju-mobile!)

It was a massive production with incredible talent in front of the camera and behind! The series will air on Amazon Prime at some point soon!
