Our investigation, and follow ups investigations, exposed how the manufacturer knew the drug affected the brain before they marketed it as an allergy medication. When horrible side effects such as anger, aggression, suicidal thoughts, and more surface, children and adults are often misdiagnosed and given additional medications.
My investigations are hard to find on my old station’s website, so I will post the written investigations and the videos.
Unfortunately, they have to be in multiple posts.

Pharmaceutical companies have downplayed the dangers, and the medical community has largely ignored the dangers despite the FDA warning that this medication should only be used as a last resort.

The campaign does not promote smoking ma*****na.
The goal is to educate Californians about the legal cannabis market and expose an epidemic of unlicensed dispensaries in the state. Products sold at unlicensed dispensaries are not tested and can be low quality or dangerous.

I asked my boss if we could produce this video featuring his family's story of their son being born hard-of-hearing.
Some facts I found stunning in my research:
-Deaf and hard-of-hearing children who receive intervention with hearing aids by 6 months old may develop at the same rate as their hearing peers.
-Health plans, who are significant donors to Governor Newsom, have opposed previous bills requiring insurance to cover hearing aids for children, estimating it could raise premiums approximately 10¢ per month.
-Taxpayers in California pay $400 million per year educating 14,000 deaf and hard-of-hearing children who didn’t have access to early intervention.
The Let CA Kids Hear Act would require insurance companies to cover hearing aids for deaf and hard of hearing children. SB 635 was signed by the CA Legislature with unanimous bi-partisan support. Governor Newsom has so far not signed the bill and has not supported similar legislation in the past.
Governor Newsom puts himself on a national platform making his actions and of national interest.

A preview of Street Medicine. I hope you'll join me tonight at 10 on CBS 5. Phoenix Children's Hospital gave us a very special opportunity to spend a day on thier mobile medical unit. You rarely hear about them but there are thousands of kids in Phoenix living on the streets, in shelters or below the poverty line. Many of these kids have no access to medical care so PCH takes medical care to the streets. In a time when there are so many negative things to foucus on, this story is about reaching out to help those who need it.
