The Philadelphia Public Record newspaper serves the City’s political community as well as the City’s Labor and neighborhood leaderships with an impact not felt from any other publication since Tom Paine’s “Common Sense”. Every week a minimum of 40,500 copies of the latest issue of the Philadelphia Public Record are distributed. Of these, eleven to twelve thousand are mailed to the homes and the of

fices of the people who make, shape, and set policy from the neighborhood block level to the highest halls of government in Philadelphia and Harrisburg. These include the election workers who staff the polls on election day on up to the committee people and ward leaders of both parties as well as their elected and appointed office holders in the city, and our representatives and senators in the State and in Washington. This list also include community groups, their leadership, doctors, institutions, schools education and media types. Since our debut in September of 1999 as a semi-monthly, the reception of the Public Record has been astounding. From the day we published our first weekly edition in April 2000, it has become obvious we have become the City of Philadelphia’s political, Labor and community chronicle. We welcome the fact the other media use our pages as source material for their stories. We understand this is because the people we cover are truly the city’s movers and the shakers. Our copy offers what we pledged they would in our masthead: “The good things that we do must be made a part of the public record”.
