It IS my station!I’ve spent a lot of time in front of a mic as a singer and doing quite a bit of public speaking in my former life as a professor and Administrator for Robert Morris University. Currently I sell Higher Ed software and on the side, my husband and I opened Tres Rojas Winery in 2020. So I have the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people from Central Illinois. Hi, I'm Janine Fairchild! Just a small town girl from Central IL who's lived on both sides of the river. Grew up in Metamora (go Redbirds! class of '89 mighty fine!), lived in my husband's hometown of Pekin, raised our two children in Dunlap, and are now empty nesters living in the heart of Peoria with our calico kitty Sadie. Attending a Christmas open house at 91.5 WCIC in 2004 led to a 15 year career in radio. I totally loved it! And am so excited at the thought of getting back into radio with Mix 106.9. I love life, people, music and having fun. Cooking, long walks, and sitting in the sun reading a good book are how I spend my free time. I'd be SO honored to wake up with you, share a smile, a laugh, and just do real life with you on the radio!

Aloha everyone, my name is Janet Thompson and I am a resident of Kickapoo Il. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 26 years, and we have a 24 year old son named Cale (24 years ago I didn’t realize I was naming my son after a leafy vegetable).
I currently work at Maui Jim Sunglasses as the Executive Assistant to the VP of Sales, and I will have my 30 year anniversary on March 1st. Some of my favorite hobbies are boating, traveling, hanging with friends, and being on the microphone. I used to do a pretty mean worm back in the day.
Each day, I hope to connect with the audience, tell great stories, and make someone’s day.
