Although there wasn’t a direct hit from Helene, Siesta Key dealt with significant storm surge. Residents had to gut out their homes and leave debris on the side of the street to be picked up. Problem now? Hurricane Milton is posing a real threat and Siesta Key could experience some of the worst storm surge in decades. What happens to all this debris? People are urged to evacuate.
