I still have not received my results from my second test. Some medical professionals just shared new research with me about the rate of false negatives being diagnosed. It’s a problem that’s getting worse every year. For too long our elected officials and leaders have played kick the can and now we’re here. In the past 3 years, Miami Dade Beaches alone have been issued no swim advisories to the presence of high fecal indicators an average of 25 times a year. In 2019 there were 39. Our beaches are at risk and our beautiful Biscayne Bay is at a tipping point because we have refused to act with enough urgency to fix this problem. Now we are at a dangerous place, if we don’t act fast and at NOW we may lose Biscayne Bay and the quality of our beaches. This affects us ALL and ALL of us must work together to fix it.
