F R I D A Y
My heart is full of gratitude. I am so moved by all your messages and comments that continue to pour in. Thank you! This is possibly day 8 or 9 for me and I continue to be symptom free and feel strong and healthy.
Some more good news: we’re cautiously optimistic that we’ve contained the virus at the Local 10. Studios. So far no other positives have turned up within our staff. So fingers crossed.
Matt also received another negative diagnosis from a second test. I still have not received my results from my second test.
Some medical professionals just shared new research with me about the rate of false negatives being diagnosed. Right now the median rate of false negative is 38%. That is to say that 38% of the negative diagnosis are in fact positive, and those people are walking around carrying the virus and spreading it without even knowing. That’s why it’s important to get tested more than once.
The further you space out your test from the date of possible exposure, the more reliable your result will be. Right now the data shows that 8 to 9 days after exposure, results are 80% accurate.
CONTACT TRACING!!!!
So important! Contact tracing is considered one of the most important tools health officials have to slow the spread of COVID-19 by focusing not just on those who’ve tested positive for the virus, but others who may have been exposed.
Our state government has dropped the ball on this, but we can and must be proactive. If you tested positive or think you might have been exposed, please reach out to a contact tracer. Anyone who wants to be traced can sign up to be traced at:

chefmichy speaks for all who work in our service and hospitality industry. Thousands of restaurant and bar workers are now suddenly out of a job and have no other means of income. The restaurateurs and bar owners are now faced with continuing to support their employees and trying to stay afloat while their businesses are shut down for who knows how long. Our city, state and federal government must intervene and provide relief. For years they have hosted us, served us, fed us, entertained us, and made us the magic city we are today. Now they need our help. Please help.

It’s a problem that’s getting worse every year. For too long our elected officials and leaders have played kick the can and now we’re here. In the past 3 years, Miami Dade Beaches alone have been issued no swim advisories to the presence of high fecal indicators an average of 25 times a year. In 2019 there were 39. Our beaches are at risk and our beautiful Biscayne Bay is at a tipping point because we have refused to act with enough urgency to fix this problem. Now we are at a dangerous place, if we don’t act fast and at NOW we may lose Biscayne Bay and the quality of our beaches. This affects us ALL and ALL of us must work together to fix it. Please watch tonight @local10news at 11pm.

It’s not everyday you feel the ground shake in Miami. A 7.7 magnitude quake reported in the Carribean south of Cuba & 73 miles NW of Jamaica & even felt here! Brickell, Aventura, even Dadeland reported shaking. Some buildings evacuated. Late breaking details now @WPLGLocal10 and local10.com

The Bank of America building was evacuated in Brickell after it was shacking as a result of a 7.7 earthquake South of Cuba. .
.
Florida by the way is the safest State in the Country with the least ammount of earthquakes. .

WHAT A RIDICULOUSLY BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! Heads up boaters! During #SuperBowl week the Coast Guard & other law enforcement will be patrolling Biscayne Bay. Boaters not allowed to anchor or idle on Biscayne Bay from just south of the Venetian Causeway to just south of the Miami River because of all the #superbowlliv events happening bayside Downtown Miami from Bayfront Park to Maurice Ferré Park.
