It's a big day for us as our newest publication makes its way around the world to thousands of subscribers. Bluegrass Unlimited is a partnership between Tanner Publishing and the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Bluegrass Unlimited is dedicated to the furtherance of bluegrass music. First published in 1966, BU is widely considered the premier magazine for bluegrass music. Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum commits to the future of the industry’s most important publication: Bluegrass Unlimited.
The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is working with Owensboro based design firm Tanner+West for production and sales support for the monthly publication.

Joslin commented, “We have worked on several projects with Tanner+West, and their capability and creativity is impressive. They have proven success in several key areas that will serve us well as we work to grow the audience for Bluegrass Unlimited. As we lead this effort, Tanner+West will be an important business partner.”

We are thrilled to announce that Brad Golliher has been named the editor of Bowling Green Living magazine!

Allow me to introduce myself:
I am Brad Golliher, Bowling Green Living’s new Editor.
Beginning with the May/June issue we will learn from one another what a local magazine is, and what it can be. You may recognize me from my other gig, co-owner of the Boyce General Store, LLC along with my wife, Brie (aka the The Pie Queen of BG) and our two boys, Brady and Bryce. To begin, let me say that I have been a magazine ju**ie from an early age, obsessed with flipping through the pages of magazines and comics, absorbing the images and stories. So much, I spent my time at Western Kentucky University in the art labs graduating with an Advertising/Graphic Design degree. We want BG Living to be entertaining and informative, but above all useful. Inside you’ll find a mixture of news, features and regular columns on a wide range of topics written by some amazing people.

Taylor West Promoted to Publisher of Tanner Publishing Co.

Tanner Publishing Co., the premier publisher of city magazines and niche publications in Western Kentucky, announces the promotion of Taylor West to Publisher. He will have the primary responsibility of overseeing all of the company's titles including Owensboro Living and Bowling Green Living magazines.

“Taylor has the creativity, drive, and experience to lead Tanner Publishing Co. into an exciting new era for our brands," said Jason Tanner, Founder of Tanner Publishing Co. "He is a proven leader and I can't wait to see him implement new ideas that will benefit readers and advertisers alike."

Taylor is a founding member of Tanner Publishing's sister company, Tanner+West, and for the past 5 years, he served as Art Director. While not his primary role, Taylor has worked extensively with the magazines throughout his tenure at Tanner+West.

Taylor is a native of Horse Cave, Kentucky and received a Visual Communications degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College. He is married to Katelyn.

So how'd we get that beautiful, painted pig on the cover of the latest Owensboro Living? A little time and skill, and a lot of Photoshop magic. Wilbur, as we've affectionately named him, started out as a photo we took at Daviess County High School's art studio. We brought him into Lightroom to get the exposure and color balance right. Then on to Photoshop to remove all his imperfections. Next, we cut him out and started applying colors to give him the paint splash look. We created a channel so that when printed, the paint would look glossy. In the final layout he's got a drip of magenta to pull it all together.

Thanks, Kentucky Legend for helping us to pull this off!

Our crew brought home 2 American Advertising Federation of Greater Evansville Addy awards last week for our cover designs of Owensboro Living. Both covers were photographed and designed in-house!

Not-so-fun fact: When the "Dining Guide" cover went to the printer we inadvertently left off a photoshop layer and so the burger had no sesame seeds. Oops!
