To reinvent ones self at the early stages of a promising career can be extremely audacious. Especially taking in consideration one has established a name that is mentioned amongst the Garden State's elite emcee's. Thus can be said for Irvington, NJ native Louie Jay formally known as J.O. It was at the age of eighteen when Louie Jay decided that running the streets was indeed the accelerated route

to a short life but the stress of not having a job didn't make leaving the streets alone an easy decision. It was at this time a good friend, G-Hop, introduced Louie Jay to a stress reliever that worked for him....writing. This would be when life was given to the moniker J.O. Hitting the music scene first with a group called "Green St" with then members Paydai, G-Hop, Kali, and F-Beat, J.O. Skeem started developing his business sense, taking mental note through each trial and tribulation. Skeem later started his own company at the time dubbed "Guaq Gang" later changing the name to "Mile High Klub" with business partner and Co-Founder Tarell Robinson. Youtube played a major role in the upbringing of J.O. Skeem the artist, however, it also left him amongst the many who would be classified as a "battle rapper". Refusing to be placed in a box, J.O. Skeem took the risk of taking an already established name and image and creatively changed his name to Louie Jay as well as cutting off his signature dreds. It takes bravery and a sense of confidence to perform such a daring act. At present, Louie Jay is one of the only unsigned artists with a major clothing line endorsement (Brivia Sky). His resume also includes successfully funding a ten city tour throughout the state of New Jersey along with Paydai and G-Hop, which brought out notable artists such as Arsonal Da Rebel, Mikee Mula, Block City, 151 Feva gang,The Homie GL, Rah Digga and Young Z from the Outsiders, just to name a few. In 2009 Louie Jay was nominated for being the hardest working artist of the year in the Underground Hip Hop Awards. He has been featured on over 200 mixtapes proving his work ethic and grind is impeccable. Not to mention his own mixtape releases including Green Streets "Who's Your Favorite Produce", "My Mixtape Better Than Your Album","The Greatest Show On Earth", "No Room For Era" and "High Altitude J/J.O. You can also youtube J.O. Skeem to view Louie Jay's work which has over a million views collectively!! What's an artists without dvd love you ask? I'm current at a stage where just trying to find the best and comfortable situation whether it be with a major or me sign a two split with a indie. I plan to be in that situation over next couple months then spread my wings to other area's of entertainment", says Louie Jay about his current status.
