🌟 Business Life and Morris with Ponce-Dick - The Connector 🌟

In the world of business, building authentic connections and fostering a sense of community is key to success, in this clip of Business Life and Morris with Jesslyn Ponce-Dick who discusses the concept of connecting people. She highlights the importance of being genuine and investing in meaningful relationships. 💬💞

"If people know you and they know your heart, they want to do business with you."

Building a Community of Trust 🤝

Empowering others and creating a strong community can lead to incredible benefits for everyone involved. By understanding the needs of those around you and making thoughtful connections, you not only help others succeed but also contribute to your own growth. 🌱🌟 For example, connecting two people who can mutually benefit each other strengthens the bonds within your community and enhances your reputation. 🔗💪

The Reciprocity of Prosperity 💡

Helping others thrive has a way of coming back to you. The more successful those around you are, the more likely you are to share in that success. 🎯🌠 When you create an environment where connections flourish, you become an essential part of the network. Your name becomes synonymous with trust and reliability, paving the way for mutual prosperity. 🤩🌍

Your Network is Your Sales Team 💼

In a well-connected network, everyone benefits. By helping others solve their problems and facilitating introductions, you reinforce your position within the network. 🌐🤝 This is especially powerful in sales, where trust is everything. When someone needs a service you provide, they're more likely to think of you first because of your positive impact. 🔑💰

In business, success is rooted in the relationships we build. When people know and trust you, they want to do business with you. 💯💼 By fostering genuine connections and creating a strong community, we all rise together. Remember, your network is your greatest asset—nurture it with authenticity, and watch your business thrive. 🌟📈

📹Business Life with Morris with Jesslyn Ponce-Dick

✨On today’s episode, Johnnie Morris interviews Jesslyn Ponce-Dick and expresses his admiration for Jesslyn's exceptional people-connecting abilities. He recalls their first meeting at a business event, where Jesslyn approached him. Johnnie mentions that one of his goals this year is to strengthen his business relationships. Johnnie wanted to start a podcast to help achieve this. Jesslyn is described as the "head nucleus" of the business referral group they are both part of, which is under the East County Chambers of Commerce.📈

👩‍💼Jesslyn explains that she was initially not planning to take on a leadership role in the networking group, but was suggested to do so by a member of the previous BNI group she was a part of. As the leader of the networking group, Her passion for connecting people has allowed her to thrive in this role. She believes that by connecting people who can help each other, she not only benefits the individuals but also her own business, as they become part of her "sales team" and are more likely to remember and refer to her services.⭐️
🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒Jesslyn shares that she is actively involved with the San Diego Metro Young Lives organization, which is a nationwide Christian organization that mentors and supports students, particularly those facing challenging circumstances. Jesslyn serves on the board of directors and explains the organization's mission to go where the students are, earn the right to share the gospel, and provide mentorship and support. She shares a powerful story of a young man who was able to avoid a tragic incident due to the relationship he had with his Young Life leader. She feels called to work with the youth and is passionate about empowering them to become the best version of themselves. 🫂
📚When asked what book Jesslyn would recommend to someone starting their own business, she suggests two books: "Jesus, My CEO" and "The Aladdin Factor." The first book reminds entrepreneurs that they are not alone, even when starting a business on their own. The second book encourages people to overcome their fears and take action towards their dreams.✝️

🏆She provides a powerful piece of advice for someone who is facing obstacles in their business and considering giving up. She encourages them to remember that they control their dreams and that they should not let obstacles take them away from them. Instead, she suggests that they should be willing to leap over the obstacle and find a solution on the other side. 🥇

🎬 On The Grind with James B Hammond - Fortunate in Hollywood🎥

In 2024, the world feels like it's on the brink of dramatic changes, and the entertainment industry is no exception. In a recent conversation with Doc Reo, industry insider James Hammond discusses his thoughts and strategies for navigating these tumultuous times. 🌟

A Scary Time in 2024 😱
The discussion begins with an acknowledgment of how unpredictable the industry feels with ongoing strikes. The presence of AI and the aftermath of the pandemic have significantly slowed down activity in Los Angeles, creating an air of uncertainty and fear. The rapid changes in health policies, including the removal of mask mandates and vaccination requirements, have added to the complexity of the situation.

Navigating Through Industry Slowdown 🚧
James Hammond highlights the unprecedented slowdown in industry activity. The combined impact of AI advancements and the lingering effects of the pandemic have created unique challenges. However, Hammond's diversified skill set has allowed him to navigate these tough times more effectively than those who are more specialized. 📉

The Aftermath of the Pandemic 🌐
The pandemic brought the industry to a standstill, reflecting a global sentiment of fear and uncertainty. Government financial support and collective understanding provided some relief during the crisis. Today, with fewer health restrictions and a surreal return to "normal," the industry faces new challenges in adjusting to these rapid changes. 😷➡️😌

Diversification as a Survival Strategy 💼
Hammond emphasizes the importance of diversification. By not limiting himself to episodic television and continuing to take on behind-the-scenes projects, he has sustained a steady income. This adaptability is crucial in unpredictable times, highlighting the need for multiple streams of income. 💡

⚙️Shifting gears James reflects on the industry's changing landscape, With industry strikes and slowdowns, adaptability is more crucial than ever. 📉

The Intentional Shift from Assistant Camera Work 🎥
Hammond made a conscious decision nearly a decade ago: "I've intentionally not taken AC jobs for probably going on 10 years now." This highlights the importance of being versatile in a dynamic industry. 🔄

Hands-On Roles 🎬 Flexibility and Availability 🚀
James's passion for hands-on roles shines through. His dedication to the craft is evident. 🎥❤️ He remains open to various opportunities. This flexibility shows his commitment to supporting peers and staying active in the field. 🤝💰

🎬 In this episode, Doc Reo is joined by talented CameraMan and Director of Photography James B Hammond. ✨

✨ James talks about how he has shot with Gal Gadot on a few occasions for different projects and how they all have been very amazing. She is a talented actress who shows enthusiasm and demonstrates professionalism on set which enhances the crew’s experience. Her presence elevated the atmosphere, whether they were shooting branded or social media content. It’s refreshing when a celebrity not only acknowledges the crew but genuinely engages with them on a personal level. Gal Gadot’s kindness and down-to-earth demeanor make her a joy to work with, and it’s clear she respects the collaborative effort on set. 🌟 🎭

📸 James also talks about how his journey in cinematography began, shooting behind-the-scenes (BTS) footage with a Mini DV camera. Starting as a PA and gradually moving up to camera operating was a process of learning and growth. Despite the challenges and sometimes being seen as "just" a BTS shooter, every experience contributed to his development. Working on projects for Universal Music and later for HBO’s creative services provided invaluable lessons in lighting, camera operation, and storytelling. 📹

🎥 James then talks about how having better filming equipment can enhance the quality of the film. As a cinematographer, James is limited to the equipment he can get. But if you can get your hands on the right gear, it plays a crucial role in storytelling and narrative choice that the cinematographer feels will help with the film's story. It’s about using the tools effectively to enhance the visual narrative and evoke emotion.📽️

🎦Finally, James talks about freelancing in the film industry and its share of ups and downs. The unpredictability of schedules and the competitive nature of the field means that building and maintaining relationships is crucial. Opportunities often come through connections and reputation, making professionalism and reliability essential traits. While the industry can be demanding, the ability to choose projects and collaborate with preferred teams can improve the experience significantly. 🎬 🎞️

🎬✨ Hollywood Holmes with Amos Burns 🎬✨

🎙️ On this episode of Hollywood Holmes, host Todd Holmes sits down with Amos Burns, a talented producer at AMGI Studios. Amos shares his remarkable journey from navigating the quirky history of pinball to achieving international success in filmmaking. Here are some key moments from their enlightening discussion, offering valuable insights and inspiration for aspiring filmmakers. 🎥🌟

Pinball: An Unlikely Breakthrough
Amos discusses a fascinating piece of history: pinball was once illegal in New York. This bizarre fact became the subject of a film that highlighted the pivotal moment when pinball was legalized after being proven a game of skill rather than chance. The production was a notable achievement, completed in just two weeks due to meticulous planning and collaboration within a tight-knit crew. This experience set the stage for Amos' future projects and taught him valuable lessons in efficiency and teamwork. 🎮📽️

Shooting "Like Dogs" 🐶🎬
Amos recalls filming "Like Dogs," his first feature film, which holds a special place in his heart. Despite initial uncertainties and the learning curve, the film's success, including international sales across 30 countries, testified to the dedication and skill of the team. The incredible turnaround time and the film's success opened many doors for him in the industry. 🌍🎥

The Influence of Moving Picture Institute 🎥✨
Amos credits much of his success to the support from the Moving Picture Institute (MPI), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting human freedom through filmmaking. MPI’s rigorous selection process, with a 1% acceptance rate, ensures that only the most promising talents are admitted. For Amos, MPI initially placed him at RPM Talent Agency, where he learned invaluable skills in casting submissions and creative development. Later, internships at Propagate Content and The Producers Guild of America further honed his expertise. 🌟🎬

International Sales and Distribution at Propagate 🌐📺
During his stint at Propagate Content, Amos gained crucial insights into the intricacies of international sales for unscripted television. He learned the processes of acquiring content, negotiating terms, and managing rights, experiences that proved to be essential in his career. Although his time at Propagate was short, it profoundly impacted his understanding of the global film market and laid the groundwork for his future endeavors in the industry. 📝🌍

Commitment to Helping Others 🤝🎬
Even after achieving professional success, Amos remains committed to supporting MPI and its mission. He actively participates in the program, helping to place interns and sharing his experiences to inspire the next generation of filmmakers. He emphasizes the importance of artistic freedom and the role MPI plays in preserving the integrity of storytelling against the backdrop of potential propaganda. 🛡️📽️

Conclusion 🌟🚀
Amos Burns' journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, innovative thinking, and the vital support systems available to dedicated individuals in the film industry. From his early days navigating the legality of pinball to his current role as a producer, Amos continues to push boundaries and inspire others. His story is a beacon of hope for aspiring filmmakers looking to make their mark in the industry, proving that with the right support and determination, success is within reach. 🌟🎬
