🙌 Separated To Be With God!

Scripture: Revelation 21:3 - And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them [and be] their God.”

Summary: Since the beginning, God has longed to dwell with His people, having awesome and perfect fellowship with us to provoke pure and joyous worship. Sin has corrupted our relationship with God, but the Book of Revelation shows that God’s work as the “Sanctifier” is coming to an end. The day is near when Jesus will purify all of His creation with fire, leaving only what He deems holy. Then, and only then, will God dwell among His people in FULL glory. Then, He will be our God in ways we can’t even imagine! The final judgment that Jesus delivers to remove sin and darkness forever will inspire the greatest worship anyone has ever seen, which literally lasts forever! The only way to benefit from these things is to believe in who Jesus is, the work He’s done so far to forgive sins, and the work He will do to end sin…

💀 Separated From Death!

Scripture: Revelation 20:6 - Blessed and holy [is] he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Summary: Jesus promised to share His power and authority with those who follow Him by faith. The scriptures teach that, as Jesus’ followers, we have been separated unto His holy purposes to be priests and kings, administrating His righteousness by His Spirit for His glory. These promises are eternal. Jesus didn’t intend to share His authority and equip our purpose for a limited time. How can we reign with Him one thousand years if we all die well before then? So, Jesus’ sanctification is sufficient to separate us from death unto eternal life, where the FULL glory of His promises can be enjoyed by serving Him through Biblical worship.

🙏 Separated For Worship

Scripture: Revelation 5:13-14 - And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power [be] to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!” Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

Summary: The testimony of Revelation Chapter 5 provides a sneak peek into heaven, just as Jesus prepares to begin His final judgment upon Earth. The Bible testifies that Jesus will totally and fully sanctify His people by judging sinners, the devil, and his demons, thereby purifying His creation, enabling God’s children to receive the full benefit of His eternal promises while dwelling in the presence of His FULL glory! Completing this work will provoke the pure worship of Jesus for all eternity. Revelation 5 shows that everyone in heaven begins rejoicing in anticipation of that work…

📞 He Who Called Us…

Scripture: 1 Peter 1:15-16 - But as He who called you [is] holy, you also be holy in all [your] conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Summary: As God’s people, we are called to be holy because of the One who called us. We should understand the nature of our calling since it’s supposed to have such a profound effect. Our calling is based on God's sovereign, righteous, and gracious declaration. We are called to be His because of His holiness, not our merits. Since God is totally separated from darkness, sin, corruption, decay, and evil, He’s able to call us unto Himself to purify us according to His likeness. This calling is fulfilled through faith in the testimony of Jesus as the Son of God and Messiah of Israel. Is our God weak that His purification should look limited and partial? Of course not! If we know who God is according to the scriptures, then we should trust that our calling doesn’t permit us to live however we want, as if God’s work and Word have no impact. Therefore, all of our conduct should be holy, trusting that the One who called us has provided the ability to make that possible.

🤩 Separated As Saints

Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 1:9-10 - These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.

Summary: The Bible refers to the people of God - believers and followers of Jesus Christ - as “saints.” The original Greek word for “saints” is also translated into the English word “holy” in the Bible. So, believers in Jesus Christ are called “holy” by God. This is not because we’re good people who earn His favor. It’s not because we’re better than anyone else. It’s because God exercises His power and wisdom to separate us from the condemnation of the world and the judgment that is coming, according to His mercy and grace. This separation that God administrates happens practically through Jesus’ redemption. He bought us by His blood, making us His purchased possession, whereby He separates His possession from the judgment He will carry out later. Being called saints doesn’t mean we’re exceptional people. It means we are forgiven people, purchased by the blood of the Son of God (God in flesh), separated from judgment by the grace of God, according to His holiness.

💯 Separated Completely!

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 - Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Summary: Jesus is God in the flesh. He is the same eternally self-existing, self-sustaining holy God who created everything. That means that when He died, His blood was eternally valuable and powerful. Since we’re cleansed and sanctified by His blood, we must understand the thorough nature of His work. Jesus’ last words on the cross were not, “It is almost finished.” Jesus said, “It IS finished!” His cleansing work is complete. So, His sanctification is all-inclusive – body, mind, and soul. The finished work of Jesus makes it so that our bodies, minds, and souls can be spiritually separated from the control, guilt, and condemnation of sin. Therefore, we should be TOTALLY separated from sin, corruption, and the worship of temporal things of this world to let Jesus prove the effectiveness of His work as true through our conduct and the eternal focus of our lives.

😇 Be Separate

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 6:16-17 - And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among [them]. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.”

Summary: In the Old Testament, God promised to dwell with His people and walk among them as the Holy One of Israel. He promised to forgive their sins and cleanse their souls. Jesus fulfilled this promise as the Holy One of Israel. So, the promise of God has been partially fulfilled. God, indeed, dwelt among His people and purified the souls of sinners by the purity of His own blood. How should we respond to this gift? We should accept God’s cleansing. We should NOT live in ways that corrupt His gift. Why should we invite and permit uncleanness in our lives if God took the form of flesh and died to purify that uncleanness? The proper response to this truth is simple in concept: Humble self. Deny self. Separate from uncleanness. Praise God. This is what it is to be holy.

💰 Bought At A Price

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit [who is] in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

Summary: How does God separate us from the sin of our flesh, the death of our souls, and the condemnation of hell? He preserves the spiritual integrity of corrupted people by taking up residence in us, sharing His holiness for our benefit. His holiness is so great that it’s sufficient to cleanse our corruption by His mere presence! Jesus paid the price of our sin by His atoning sacrifice. His cleansing makes it possible for the presence of the Holy God to dwell in the hearts of believers, just like He did in the tabernacle and temple. When this happens, we become like God’s temple and dwelling place, where He keeps us safe from the corruption of our nature and the eternal consequences of the sin around us. His blood is the currency He used to purchase a home in our hearts.

☠️ Separated For Sacrifice

Scripture: Romans 12:1-2 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Summary: When God revealed His identity as Sanctifier to Israel, that revelation came with a command: Be holy because He is holy. We’re to be affected by His holiness, conformed into His likeness, due to the connection He enables with us by the blood of Jesus through the indwelling of His Spirit. Our worship of God is dependent on obedience to this command. We’re to be “living sacrifices:” dead to our selfish and worldly ambitions. This type of living is our service to the LORD, equal to the worship the priests used to conduct in the tabernacle and temple. Our worship requires us to die to “self” to live according to the work of sanctification that God does to separate us from our flesh and the corruption of this world. According to the Bible, this is how we’re supposed to thank the LORD. God separates us from sin, death, and hell, equipping us to become living sacrifices where we thank the LORD through this brand of worship in gratitude for the cleansing He gives us.

😫 Separated From Groaning

Scripture: Acts 7:33-34 - Then the LORD said to him, “Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt.”

Summary: In Acts Chapter 7, Stephen the Martyr spoke about Jesus doing the same work the Father did for Israel in the days of Moses, but in a spiritually-centered way. The Angel of the LORD (Jesus) visited Moses in the burning bush, as a physical manifestation of God’s holiness. Jesus commanded, encouraged, and equipped Moses to lead His people from the bo***ge of Egypt, in the same way that He leads people out of the bo***ge of sin, death, and hell. The continuity of scripture shows that God has always visited His people in various ways, to separate us from the bo***ge and eternal hardships of sin that restricts and corrupts our worship of Him.

🔥 Separated From Hell

Scripture: Acts 2:30-31 – “Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.”

Summary: The preachers, teachers, and followers of Jesus Christ proclaimed that He fulfilled the Father’s promise of “the Holy One.” They taught that Jesus fulfilled the promise for God to visit His people, and cleanse them from sin and corruption. How do we know they were right? They pointed to the resurrection of Jesus as proof through prophecy. Psalm 16:10 says the Father would not let the Holy One see corruption. Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day, escaping the corruption of death, thereby fulfilling the prophecy that David wrote. Who else but God can predict the future this way, and give detailed accounts of the future like He did through the prophets? Who else can raise themselves from the dead? So, since Jesus fulfilled that prophecy, He is the Holy One, appointed by the Father to fulfill ALL the other promises and covenants documented in scripture. This means that Jesus is free from corruption. He is uniquely qualified to purify corrupted souls according to the Father’s promise. He’s the only One able to establish the kingdom God promised to His people. We can know this is true, because the resurrection of Jesus Christ, proves that He’s God-in-flesh, able to do all things, like keep our souls separated from the corruption of hellfire!
