Cones ‘n Cars is tomorrow night! 🚘🍦

The fun will begin tomorrow at 5:30PM. If you are showcasing your classic car(s), you can arrive in the upper parking lot any time after 4:00PM.

Parking for attendees will be in the lower lot. Please check in at the registration table by the stairs leading to the upper lot.

If you are unable to climb the stairs between the lots and require handicapped parking, please contact Valerie Cavooris at [email protected] or call us at 617-965-7200, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Studio Elements teaches you the basics of lighting, cameras, and the control room inside our fully-equipped HD studio needed for other studio classes, producing, or volunteering at NewTV.

🏆On Wednesday evening, NewTV was awarded the Alliance for Community Media Hometown Media Award for Best Voter Education Piece by an Access Center, Professional. NewTV won this award for Newton News' interview with Mayor Ruthanne Fuller regarding the Override ballot questions.🏆

Our Streaming Media Specialist Eugene Foygelman attended the award ceremony to accept the award on NewTV's behalf. Eugene played an instrumental role in making this interview a reality thanks to his top-notch videography and editing skills.🎥 Congratulations also go out to Newton News Director and Anchor Jenn Adams for her consistent excellence as a journalist and interviewer.🎤

We were so excited to host a group of MassBay Community College students for a podcasting session last week! Once a week for the next 5 weeks, these students will join us in our Training Center to record and edit the all-new MassBay student podcast.

NewTV is collaborating with MassBay this semester to give Media & Communications students access to our professional podcasting equipment and audio editing software. We hope to create an invaluable experience for these students that will help them to forge careers in our industry!

This week on Newton News, Jenn Adams has the story on the three override questions, the fate of which will be decided in the upcoming Special Election on March 14th.

1️⃣ Question 1 asks taxpayers to override Proposition 2.5 with a permanent increase in annual taxes of $9,175,000: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Qgkb9omKmk

2️⃣ Question 2 asks for $2,300,000 to support a debt exclusion override on funding to either renovate or build a new Countryside Elementary School. If approved, this debt exclusion override would start in Fiscal Year 2030 and last for 30 years: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngP8-y8WE2U

3️⃣ Question 3 asks residents to increase their taxes with a debt exclusion override to fund a new or renovated Franklin Elementary School in West Newton.
