Hello music lovers!!! On this week's episode, we discuss the recent national and global protests demanding racial justice for the violent killings of and by police. We also discussed where some streaming services created blacked out or silent programming lasting 8 mins 46 secs, the length of time it took for George Floyd's life to be taken. However we were not 100% impressed with these efforts. 🙄 In addition, we provide listeners with resources they can use to help fight against police brutality If protesting on the front lines is not your lane. Do you listen to sad music when you’re going through it? Well there may just be a reason behind that. On this weeks segment we talk about the various reasons why sad music may actually help you from being self-destructive through tough times.

According to , “researchers from Freie Universität Berlin surveyed 772 participants from around the globe to find out why people seek out sad music, particularly during breakups. The researchers found that you experience four different cognitive rewards of music-evoked sadness: the reward of imagination, emotion regulation, empathy and no "real-life" implications”. We stand with Jussie! Jussie Smollett was attacked early this morning in a possible hate crime in Chicago. Reportedly he was beat up and the assailants put a noose around his neck. He was taken to the hospital immediately after.
We are praying for Jussie’s speedy recovery and the highest level of justice for this crime! 🙏🏽
