No idea why we hated the idea of going to the Mermaid Parade for so many years. Definitely a highlight of this summer.

December 25. Everything is closed. Despite the crowds on the streets, the evening is quite pleasant. Great chance to capture some shots of the unusually warm city.

During the holidays New York becomes as empty as other American city on a usual day.
After the parade was over Max and I took a nice stroll from Greenpoint to Williamsburg and I took some autumn shots on my Leica.

My plan is to get some last warmth of the sun and the color of the foliage.

Winter rarely gives us a chance for a street photography stroll. A couple days ago it was so warm and sunny so we couldn’t resist the urge to enjoy the streets of our favorite city in the world.

Years ago for decent lifestyle photography you needed a pro camera.
These days smartphones produce high quality photos that with a minimum of editing serve you as good as if not better than pictures from a pro camera.

None of the lessons learned. People still kill people en masse in Ukraine, Yemen, Afghanistan and many more. And for what?
Resources, that if shared equally and used sustainably can last centuries if not thousands of years?
Power, that can only last for a lifetime but generations ahead will have to deal with the consequences of someone’s greed for power?
Ideas? Religion? Ridiculous.
How many more should die before we realize a simple thing: life is really short.
Let’s not shorten each others’ lives and make this journey on our planet enjoyable for as many people as we can.
Let’s give love and never take lives for any nonsense reasons. Let’s evolve in better people.
