Canal Creatures takes its name from the Gowanus Canal, which runs next to CCP's Brooklyn office. The Gowanus is considered to be one of the most polluted bodies of water in the world, and was recently listed as a Superfund cleanup site by the EPA. CCP's location on the Gowanus waterfront serves as a daily reminder of the importance of clean water and sustainable living.
