Traveling alone is something that has taught me so much about myself. One of those things being traveling with people is almost always more fun hahaha. The way I live now is I won’t let not having someone to do something with stop me from doing it, but if I have to option to go with people I’ll l always pick that. There is something so special to me about creating memories with someone. No amount of pictures or videos can ever accurately describe experiences for me. So sometimes doing things alone can feel isolating even after, when you are trying to tell others about your experiences.Cherishing this next week with my mom and family, and looking forward to a summer full of travels with some of my favorite people.

A little drive down the million dollar highway!! This is the drive from Ouray to Durango and it did not disappoint. We stopped at a natural hot spring hotel in Ouray, which had naturally heated water to 102 degrees. They also had v***r caves, which were underground and had water heated to 112 degrees! I highly recommend making the trip if you have the opportunity, it greatly exceeded my expectations ✨

The Tetons are the place that originally made me fall in love with the outdoors. I feel like I can confidently say if I didn’t come here with my dad 2 years ago… I would not be living in my van now. Even being back here I feel like it has reignited my desire for traveling and exploring. Day 1 consisted of hiking delta lake and swimming through freezing water to a rock in the middle. Taking outdoor showers and staying at the most beautiful campsite I’ve ever seen.

Lake solitude. I did this hike 2 years ago with my dad and it instantly became my favorite. Coming back here I knew I had to do it again but did not anticipate how much snow we would have to go through. The hike is 18 miles, and the last 2 miles to the lake were fully walking in snow, which means 4 miles of that total with going back hahaha. If you’re going I highly recommend bringing spikes bc we did not and it was definitely very slippery. Even though it was very challenging it was so worth it and if you are in the area and want a good hard hike it’s one of the best!

The last 2 days in the Tetons were magical. We took a day off hiking after our 18 mile day and had a picnic by Jenny lake. Then yesterday we decided to go to Phelps lake and do a 25 foot cliff jump. The water was absolutely FREEZING, so cold I couldn’t breathe trying to swim back and it was only 55 degrees outside. It was so worth it though! Call me crazy I actually did it twice bc I didn’t get the video I wanted the first time. Tomorrow we are heading into Yellowstone, but I’ll be back in the Tetons soon don’t worry!

Making the most of rainy days in the Tetons. I sometimes have a hard time doing that when I’m by myself. When people are visiting and have limited time it gives me so much more motivation to bundle up and get out no matter what and it’s always worth it. But if you keep waiting for the sun you end up missing so much. The gloomy weather kind of made this day and I got to see the Tetons in a whole new light. The clouds were low covering some of the base of the mountains, but you could still see the peaks. It was so incredible, so let this post be your motivation to get outside today no matter what.

Yellowstone —- GlacierThis has been the most amazing trip. We got to Glacier yesterday and it has completely blown my mind. I can’t even believe this place is real, and scarily may be taking the Tetons spot as #1 park for me. It is so vast and beautiful and green and alive and everything I love. I’m so happy I have some more time in this place because I am nowhere near ready to leave.

The past few days have been so amazing and incredible and I want everyone to be able to experience the park in the way we have so here’s a little itinerary if you’re looking to travel to Glacier National park for 3-4 daysDay 1 (East Glacier) hike iceberg lake (my favorite one) 10 miles moderate Day 2 (East Glacier) hike grinnell glacier 10 miles hard, you can also add going to grinnell lake for an extra couple flat milesDay 3 Drive the Going to the Sun Road to west glacier and stop and do avalanche lake 6 miles moderate on the wayDay 4 rent kayaks or paddle boards on lake McDonald (make sure not to get too far out the waves make it HARD to get back, speaking from experience lol)This might go without saying but to get the full experience you MUST jump in every lake you come across! Let me know if this is on your summer travel list!

Oh wow how sad to say goodbye to this place. I came here 2 years ago and fell absolutely in love with the outdoors. I feel so confident if I wouldn’t have come here I would not have ended up living in my van a year later. The Tetons have stayed my favorite place throughout all my travels so far, although I have to say my trips coming up may give it a run for it’s money ✨

Yesterday we hiked to the top of Lincoln Peak in Glacier National Park. It was a 15 mile hike with 4,300 feet of elevation gain and a pretty insane rock scramble at the end. It was one of the top 5 most challenging day hikes I’ve done but SO worth it. At the top we were surrounded by goats who would get so close to you without you even noticing until you turned around. It was so special to be able to do this hike with my dad and share that experience together. I feel so lucky to have parents who are able to do this kind of stuff with me, and also enjoy it 🥹

Sometimes it amazing me how quickly your life can change and become something you never imagined. 3 years ago I was graduating from college and getting my CPA getting ready to work in public accounting.2 years ago I was unhappy in the career I had started and searching for something new that brought me happiness.1 year ago I was almost finished with my van build ready to get out there and hit the road, unsure of what I would do for income.And now I’ve been on the road for almost 9 months and the journey has looked different in many ways than I even pictured it. I poured myself into creating content as a hobby and it turned into a job. I have had so many friends and family come visit. I have met an entire community on the road that I didn’t know existed and now have friends wherever I go. And most importantly I am happier than I ever knew was possible.If you are stuck in a place where you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, just remember how different your life can look in a year if you start making small changes now.

I am so lucky. I don’t know many peoples parents who would be willing to travel in a van with them, let alone do 3 back to back 12+ mile hikes and jump is half frozen water. These trips with my parents are so special to me, this time and these adventures I will cherish forever. Everyone in the comments please tell Tim how incredible he is for jumping in that freezing water hehe

My dad and I have hiked over 100 miles in the last 12 days and been to some of the MOST incredible places. Glacier, Banff, Yoho, Jasper, and Lake Louise! Just knocked off a big chunk of my bucket list. So grateful and lucky to have this time and be able to share these experiences with him. Cannot wait for all of the rest of my summer adventures.
