Happy birthday to the late Richie Evans, born in 1941 and 2012 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee. A nine-time champion in NASCAR’s modified division in a 13-year span, Evans won eight straight titles from 1978-1985.

On his podcast, Denny Hamlin says he reviewed the SMT data which shows Kyle Larson did NOT jump the final restart on Sunday. As a matter of fact, he and Ryan Blaney took off at the exact same time.

With Larson in first gear and Blaney in second gear, it created the illusion that Larson jumped the start. There was no jump.

Christopher Bell ended up needing a push from Ty Gibbs after running out of fuel at the end. Bubba Wallace also got help from Kyle Busch. Also running out but not getting any help was Corey LaJoie.

After previously announcing he’d be keeping one of the four Stewart-Haas charters as well as the two Xfinity Series teams, Gene Haas and Joe Custer have tabbed Joe’s son and reigning Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer to drive the Haas Factory Team No. 41 next year in the Cup Series.

They’ll stay with Ford and will have an alliance with RFK Racing.
