so much to be grateful for this past year. it's been a sea change year all fueled by a lot of big dreams (with a lot of patience, 15 years into this thing). some updates from 2023:

- started a new record label, moon records (!)
- signed our first artists and got to work on our first releases
- built out a full multimedia production studio and worked on our first brand client projects
- moved our recording studios to a great new spot in brooklyn, and recorded, mixed, and mastered dozens of projects

here's a little teaser of what's in store for 2024 -- Maelyn Jarmon singing us into the new year in our new spot.

i couldn't be more thankful for the amazing friends and fam in our little corner along the way -- couldn't do it without you.

This week’s guest, Carey Clayton, is a producer, guitarist, and composer based in Los Angeles. As well as creating music as a solo artist, he’s toured with synth pop group Great Good Fine Ok and world/folk music outfit David Wax Museum, and he’s produced for artists including Emily Thomas, Darius Christian, Ian Abel, Mary Akpa, Gianna Alessi, and A is for Atom. As if that wasn’t enough, he makes music as part of the duos B.A.D.A. and Pet Population.

On the show tonight, we talk to Carey about his diverse musical background, how he approaches being a solo artist as well and a touring musician and a record producer, and he’ll be giving us some live musical performances from his home studio in LA.

We’ll also put Carey to the test with the “11 Minute Beat Challenge”, where we’ll give him a sample he’s never heard, and he has exactly 11 minutes to turn it into a beat. AND much, much more. Enjoy the show!
