Lucy D.Rodriguez, stage name "LULU DESTINY" was born in the Bronx and raised in Queens, New York. growing up listening to Motown, Salsa ,Rock-n-Roll,
Ballads ,R&B and Freestyle. At the age 8, Lucy, was already beginning her journey
with music from singing with her records, cassettes, with
the radio and t.v. She then knew what she wanted to be. With her mom being her fan
and audience. Lucy was already on here way to her beginning. When she was 15, Lucy fell in love with freestyle music. She also used to sing in school plays, and in high school,
Lucy was Sheila E., in a talent show singing,
"Glamorous life" and won! When Lucy turned 18, she began hitting the club
scene like Roseland Tunnel, Studio 54, Lamour East
Palladia Webster Hall, just to name a few. But especially The one in her neighborhood called,
Abbey Road. Lucy loved to sing n dance every chance
she got. Music was and still is her escape to her
worlds and her passion and desire to sing are for
many reasons . Lucy will be greatful and will always remember
where she came from. And hopes that she'll be able
to show it. Lucy has a voice, and has performed in
front of people in talent shows in her
neighborhood,and other places,as well as
karaoke shows too. She came in 1st or 2nd place. Freestyle or any other style of music makes her feel
free and full of life! Just recently in 2010 became friends with Judy Torres. April 2011, Lucy auditioned for a event, coming up in June 2011 and will come out in it other fellow artists opened many doors for Lucy and opportunities. Lucy is currently in the studio,working on her first
single with a producer named,Dutch Masta. The song is called,"Your my Destiny" written by lyricist,
and friend, AMANDA MARIE (Amanda Marie Dantzler). Lucy knows many people in the industry! Such as Swins Fontenelle, Judy Torres, Lisa Lisa, Richie Sorrentino, Lydia Lee Love, Boriqua Posse, Freedom Williams, Artie Rodriguez, and many more. Lucy just recently in May 2011 made her debut appearance in an upcoming new artists music video by the name
of EL COMPI directed by Artie Rodriguez.The name of the music video in which Lucy is featured in is called "ME LEVANTA". In the future Lucy is planning on working with other artists. Lucy's inspirations are: Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey
Marc Anthony, Selena ,Cher, Judy Torres, Lisa Lisa, Patti LaBelle, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Debarge, Ricky Martin ,Sweet Sensation,. Just to name a few. In June 2011 Lucy performed debuting her new single YOU'RE MY DESTINY a freestyle dance song and she is currently working on other projects and songs. She also made her first television appearance on the Diamante show and then again in July on the Nueva Ola Show and she also was the opening artist for her first festival appearance in EL BARRIO for LA CARNIVAL DE LOIZA DE ALDEA DE PUERTO RICO. Lucy also is looking foward to crossing over to doing other genres of music she wants her music to be versitile and to attract all ages of fans. Lucy has a powerful voice that you will all feel and remember! In October 2011, Lucy got a record deal and signed a contract with a independent record label and the following year left to persue her career as a solo artist again. Since her beginning she has performed for causes like for the LGBT, Cancer events and opened up the Puerto Rican Parades in the Bronx singing with pride the National American Anthem, and the Anthem La Borinquena of Puerto Rico. She will be working with other artists and projects in the future. Like the saying goes, "Better Late Than Never"
