Preparing for our future.

The Joint Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program Test Team (JETT) is a specialized group that develops, integrates, and executes tests and analog missions that enable the Artemis Campaign Development mission.

JETT3 was the final test in the JETT integrated test plan series for 2022, which is a fully integrated mission scale test to ensure successful surface operations and technology development for Artemis III. JETT is led out of NASA’s Johnson Space Center here in Houston, where a science evaluation team and flight control team supported the astronauts from the Mission Control Center.

The group is sponsored by Johnson’s Extravehicular Activity & Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP) in collaboration with the Science Mission Directorate (SMD).

Five down, five to go, as I lay down my backup set of 10 samples.

In this tube: a core sample from a rock that formed from magma, then was altered by water several times. It could help scientists understand the early history of this area, when life may have been present. 🔎🪨

I collected this rock core back in Nov. 2021. Bringing samples from rocks like this back to Earth for closer study could be really revealing.🔬 Meanwhile, here’s more on what my team learned from early studies of this rock and others like it: go.nasa.gov/3s848ml
