Welp, I’ve taken the leap. For a few years now, I’ve been obsessively watching furniture restoration videos on YouTube. At this point, I know all the techniques, the products, the tricks of the trade. I’ve loved woodworking since I was a child.

And now I’ve picked out my first two pieces. Just picked them up last night. I wanted to start small, with the accent cabinet on the left, but the seller insisted I get both pieces, so I did. I love them.

Now I get to figure out whether I just love watching furniture restoration videos, or if it’s something I really want to get into. As though I needed another “thing.” But I’m feeling the pull to get out from behind the computer and develop a new set of skills.

These art deco pieces from the 20’s and 30’s are my favorite. I’ll try to film a bit of the process. I don’t actually have time to work on them now, but maaaan... when I do? Well, let’s just hope I don’t ruin them.

Prepare to be SICK OF ME. It’s Dick Van D**e O’Clock around here until the 14th! 😆 ’s 100th birthday is December 13th and I will be celebrating until then. It was such an honor to attend this event at his home in Malibu this weekend. Looking forward to all of the other events they are planning as we get closer to the date. My heart is full.
