As a community radio station broadcasting from the campus of the City College of New York, WHCR seeks to provide skills in communications and related disciplines to students here at the college and community members. Not bound by playlists, WHCR's DJs play the music of their choice and provide much needed exposure for independent artists who are often locked out of commercial radio. Talk shows cover Community Affairs, Sports, Health, Technology, Business, Mental Health and Community based Arts and Entertainment.
