Zeugma Antik Kenti. The history of the Ancient City of Zeugma dates back to 300 BC. The city, which was used as a settlement during the Macedonian period, was later under the control of the Roman Empire. Zeugma, which has shown great development during the Roman period, has become an important trade center thanks to its strategic location and its bridges over the Euphrates River.
Zeugma is one of the most important mosaic centers of the Ancient Age.
Zeugma Mosaics are fascinating with their fine craftsmanship, vivid colors and detailed compositions.
Among the most famous mosaics found in Zeugma are works such as Dionysus and Nike Mosaic, the Gypsy Girl Mosaic, Poseidon, Oceanos and Tethys Mosaic, Oceanos andTethys Mosaics, Achilleus Mosaic, Europhe"s Abduction Mosaic, Galateia Mosaic, Venus" Birth Mosaic and Triton Mosaic. These mosaics, which reflect the rich culture and artistic skills of the Ancient Age, are exhibited at the Zeugma Mosaic Museum. Mosaics, 2 BC-3. It is dated between centuries. Apart from the Zeugma Mosaics, covering an area of 2,500 square meters in the museum, it is possible to see statues, columns and fountains belonging to the Roman Era. The bronze statue of the god of war Ares is one of the most interesting works in the museum besides mosaics.

Unfinished obelisk, Aswan,
The large unfinished obelisk in the Northern Quarries has provided valuable insight into how these monuments were created, although the full construction process is still not entirely clear.
Three sides of the shaft, nearly 42m long, were completed except for the inscriptions.
At 1168 tonnes, the completed obelisk would have been the single heaviest piece of stone the Egyptians ever fashioned.
