Backset is a five piece band out of Oahu, Hawaii formed off the energy of surfing, skating and Hawaiian culture by friends Gabriel Goes (Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar), Joaquin Browne (Lead Guitar), Kobeats (Drums), Cam Somlak (Bass) and Josh Kay (Keys and backup vocals).

From surfing to skating to jamming, these five friends have a bond like no other and you can see it in their live performances. Fans have called their shows “High energy” “Can’t miss” “A vibe that you can’t help but dance to” and “Addicting”. From jumping into the crowd, ripping solos and a stage presence you can’t find anywhere else Backset takes their shows to the next level. With top songs that include their newest single “Want You To Know” and songs off of their debut EP “HI” like “Forever Laughing” and “Take Me Back” you will hear a sound that has the sensibilities of Sublime, Pepper, and early Slightly Stoopid.

While sticking to their Island Reggae Roots they have a good way of mixing in styles like Indie Rock, Pop Punk and Reggae Rock into their songs. Backsets addicting high energy shows mixed with their catchy lyrics, dance floor rhythms and face melting solos along with the crowd work from Gabriel gives them all of the ingredients to make a small venue feel like wembley.

Gabriel Goes is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter, born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i, to Brazilian parents.

From a young age, Gabriel was deeply immersed in the arts and music, his late father was a renowned photographer and filmmaker and his mother is a professional performer. At just two years old, he picked up the ukulele, and by age six, he was already performing in local productions. Surrounded by creativity, Gabriel reflects, “Music has always been my passion; it’s just something that comes naturally to me.”

Guided by his uncle, who also served as his music mentor, Gabriel not only learned to play various instruments but also discovered how to express himself through music.

In high school, he formed a reggae/rock band called Backset, which started releasing singles and touring throughout Hawaii and the West Coast. Backset draws inspiration from bands like Sublime, Pepper, and Sticky Fingers, blending ska, reggae, indie, and surf rock vibes to create their distinct sound. The band’s latest single, “Want You to Know,” is currently a hit on Hawaiian radio. Lead singer/songwriter Gabriel Goes teams up with producer/keyboardist Josh Kay and their childhood friends to bring the rhythm of Hawai‘i to the world, telling everybody to come cruz and join the jam!

Reece is a 23-year-old Country music artist from Orlando, FL where he grew up in 4H raising horses, cows and chickens. He graduated from Houghton University in New York with a Biology degree and then decided to pursue his passion of songwriting and entertainment.

Reece started playing music at local venues in Florida where he saved up his money and bought himself an old tour bus and started touring across the country with his brother and band. They have played festivals, large music venues and H***y Tonks up and down Broadway and the east coast including opening for Sister Hazel at RocktoberFest in FL.

Reece released his first Single “Momma’s Boy” in May 2023 followed by his debut EP “Far From Home” in October 2023 and his recent single “Back To You” in February 2024. He will make his Whiskey Jam debut in Nashville on August 19th, 2024 followed by a couple dozen more shows booked this summer.

We are excited to sign Reece to our growing roster and look forward to booking more shows with him. Welcome to the family
