When MT Baseball faces LA Tech on Wednesday afternoon, the radio booths will have a combined 90+ years of experience (at their current schools) with Dave Nitz at Tech and Dick Palmer with the Blue Raiders. Nitz is calling it a career at the end of this baseball season and Awful Announcing did a nice piece on my friend.

After nearly 50 years as the voice of Louisiana Tech athletics, Dave Nitz is set to retire at the end of the Bulldogs' baseball season.

I knew there was a reason I felt good today. Woke up a little early. A little extra pep in my step. Seemed to be smiling all day. Now I remember why. 42 years ago tonight, March 11, 1982, the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders took down the Kentucky Wildcats, 50-44, in the NCAA Mideast Regional in Nashville. To this day, Middle has never been beaten by Kentucky in basketball.
