***MESSAGE FOR CHRISTIAN BUSINESS OWNERS***
CHASE AFTER YOUR DREAMS...is what the world would tell you. It is my passion and dream to be the best Photographer as much as I do love Photography. However, I've discovered that, as a follower of Christ, your passion for your craft is NOT ALWAYS aligned with your Purpose in Jesus Christ.
Am I saying that's the case for you or me right now? Not exactly. What I AM saying is that when your passion for craft supersedes your purpose for Christ, then you have a much greater issue happening in your heart.
Now, if you're not a follower of Christ, then I understand the core reasoning for your pursuits. You're not thinking about the advancement of the Kingdom of God in your life. I get that, I've been there. If you're a follower of Christ and you think that mindset is not realistic, I also understand. You probably can't conceive a thought process that refuses to mix Kingdom agenda and personal agenda. For the scripture says "to live is CHRIST, but to die is gain" and it says "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?"
Wait a sec, but you may be saying: "Paris that's a far reach. It is possible for you to have the business/career of your dreams AND be about the Kingdom of God." My friend, I'm not saying you're wrong, but lets be VERY honest and VERY clear. C'mon lets just park here for a moment and think about our heart posture.
I've weeded out soooo many Photo opportunities that could've made me a bunch of money because I'm leaning in more and more to what pleases God. I can't shoot certain things because my conviction according to the scriptures is that I CAN NOT partake in certain things or be responsible for creating certain images. I'm not here to condemn anyone nor do I believe myself to be more righteous than the next, but lets be real here.
No matter what your career path is, the question is, have YOU created a purpose according to your passion? Or are you seeking to DISCOVER your purpose that was already set by Christ?
Think about that for a moment. Purpose is not meant to be created by us, it is meant to be discovered in Christ!!! That's the meat of what I'm saying here. Please do not misunderstand me. I am NOT saying you can't have money and the messiah.. I'm not saying you can't have career and Christ... My friend, what I am saying is that you must set things in their proper place. Money and Career must NOT take a front seat while Christ sits in the back seat of my life. Thats ALL I'm saying!
I mean, am I telling a lie right now? Help me out. I'm not better than anyone reading this. I'm held to the very same standard as every other believer. Put aside titles, accolades, and positions. No, really, what is your purpose in Christ!???

Since then, I've gotten in a lake, on the edge of a pier, laid in dirt, hung from the air, I've done quite a bit of stunts to 'get the shot'!

Living life as a follower of Christ in and of itself is an ACT OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE...
If you are born again, redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and have made a conscious decision to follow the Son of the Living God, YOU my friend are not just the recipient of a blessing. You are also the target of a common enemy...
You think you can run up in enemy territory, set captives free, and the enemy let you get away with it with no response???
As the scripture says, if God be for us then who can be against us!
I say this with Love, but we'd be unwise to think we're really out here doing the work of God and the enemy won't make it his business to attack our mind, our marriages, even our singleness, our purity, and our family! He'd even USE the people in proximity to us to carry out his attacks!!!
May Holy Spirit give us BOLDNESS, may God increase our FAITH, may the Lord continue to mold us into a KINGDOM MINDED BODY!

People are leaving true God-called Church fellowships in droves in search of a so-called "church" that caters to preaching 'feel-good' messages!
I'm not here to condemn anyone nor is this a shaded subliminal post for anybody. Lets just get that straight first, but YO!
There is a remnant (very small number) of Church fellowships that are preaching the full unadulterated Word of God. This is the biblical approach to preaching. No feel-good sermons, no motivational speeches, I'm talking straight up GOSPEL of Christ centered messages. These are not manufactured to make YOU feel good, these are geared to CHALLENGE and CONVICT you to pursue Christ in every area of your life!
Oh, but we don't want that though...
We don't want to hear about the Holiness of God, the consequences of sin and wickedness, or being in right standing with God...Nooo we don't want that now do we?
'We' want to always be told how amazing we are, how great we are, how blessed we are, how God is going to make us happy, and how God is going to give us everything we want...
We must examine our heart. Ask the question of ourselves and be honest, "Do I really Love what God Loves and Hate what God Hates???"
Just something for us to think about.

I'm so thankful for God's MERCY...
His mercy...
He had...MERCY...on me...
In my sin, when I was lost, given over to my fleshly desires, bent on wickedness, high on evil, in love with lies, empty in my soul, dead in my trespasses, distant from the Cross of Christ, HE HAD MERCY ON ME!
"Paris, what do you mean, his mercy?"
God's mercy on us is when He withholds from us the very punishment we deserve! He allowed me countless opportunities to repent and get it right with Him!
I trust in Christ and His finished work on the cross! Thank you Lord for the Spirit of Christ which now lives on the inside of me!
I have not arrived, I'm not Mr. Perfect, NO SIR! But I'm thankful that the Spirit of God in me drives me to desire what He desires. He gives me power over my thought life and has destroyed the chains which once bound me to a life of sin!
I can go on and on, but if you know you're not where you should be in Christ, you don't have to STAY there. You can be FREE!
The Scriptures say "whom the Son sets free, is FREE INDEED"
