On this Music Monday, join Jazz Soirée host Cliff Towner in welcoming WRGC Operations Director Daniel McDonald to the mic one last time.
McDonald joins Jazz Soirée tonight to explore the ways Miles Davis’s music evolved with the different concert venues, recording studios and music producers that he worked with during his genre-defining career.
On an episode entitled “the Sound of Miles Davis,” Towner and McDonald talk about how learning more about the places where music is made can enhance your understanding and enjoyment of the artists and their unique contributions to Jazz.
McDonald accepted a position with WUGA in Athens and will be leaving WRGC later this month. Tonight’s episode of Jazz Soirée will be his last production at Milledgeville’s public radio station.
“Thank you to everyone who’s ever tuned in to WRGC,” McDonald said. “It has been my pleasure shining a light on the many people and stories that make up this incredible community. I am so grateful to you for trusting me to share your stories through WRGC 88.3 FM.”

City of Milledgeville expects low water pressure and localized outages to last through Wednesday, April 26. City water officials have not issued an estimate for when service will be fully restored.
Contractors will work tomorrow to increase the effectiveness of the secondary operating pump that was put online as a backup to the failed high service pump. But water officials expect water pressure levels to fluctuate with water usage during the evening, night and morning hours.
Officials ask all residents to continue conserving water until service is fully restored.

City of Milledgeville Issues Emergency Water Conversation Advisory

A motor failure in a high service pump at the City’s Water Treatment facility has caused the City of Milledgeville to issue an an emergency water conservation request for all City Water and Sewer customers to please refrain from the following:
- Outside water use in any capacity or volume
- No filling of swimming pools
- No watering of gardens, lawns or washing cars (Commercial car washes using recycling techniques may continue to operate)

The Recommendation for indoor water conservation is as follows:- Please try to condense loads of laundry
- Reduce showering times
- Turn water off when brushing teeth or shaving. - Make sure all faucets are turned off
- Dishwashers are full to minimize loads

Voluntarily following this conservation request makes it less probable that the complete system will lose water pressure . This conservation request remains in effect until further notice by the City of Milledgeville.
