While REM wants to sit on their ass and not play, the 2nd greatest jangle rock band are still playing. Lead singer of The Connells Doug has wrestled with health issues but a few years back on tour, and a band of mates that wouldn't trade him for the world, he is sounding more like his old self. REM said in an interview they don't want to play again because it will never be as good as it was. That is a copout. None of us are as good as we were. Man up and rock!=. The Connells sound about 80% of their prime after re-starting from scratch but in this clip we find the band back in the groove.

Trent Reznor from NIN was not expecting Johnny Cash to record one of his songs and was blown away by a Johnny Cash version of Hurt. Reznor praised Cash's interpretation of the song for its "sincerity and meaning", going so far as to say "that song isn't mine anymore". In 2002, Johnny Cash covered "Hurt" to commercial and critical acclaim. Cash died in 2003 at age 71
