As the new school year begins, safety remains our top priority for our precious students and the community. Here are some vital tips to ensure a safe and successful school year:

1️⃣ 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝑨𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝒂𝒕 𝑪𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒔: Whether you're driving, biking, or walking, keep a keen eye out for crosswalks and use them properly. Let's work together to prevent accidents!

2️⃣ 𝑩𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒍𝒆 𝑼𝒑: Always wear your seatbelt when driving, and make sure everyone in the car is buckled up too. Safety starts before you even leave for school.

3️⃣ 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝒁𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔: Watch your speed in school zones, and be aware of school buses picking up and dropping off children. Obey traffic rules to keep everyone safe.

4️⃣ 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓: Teach your children about the importance of not talking to strangers, even if someone claims to be from the school. Always verify with the school if unsure.

5️⃣ 𝑬𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔: Ensure your child knows how to reach you or other trusted adults in case of an emergency. Having a plan is crucial.

6️⃣ 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝑩𝒖𝒔 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝑨𝒓𝒎𝒔: Stop means STOP! Busses will be out and about and kids will be standing at corners and crossing streets. Please be sure to pay attention and follow the law as it relates to the Indiana School Bus Stop Arm Law!

Good morning!

Just a few quick reminders!

Golf Carts are NOT to be driven outside of town limits. This includes the frontage road, Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk, Hwy 12, Marina Shores and the South Shore parking lots. You can be ticketed if you take your golf cart outside Ogden Dunes.

A golf cart driver must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid driver’s license. Golf cart drivers are required to carry their driver's license and insurance card when the cart is in operation on Ogden Dunes streets.

You must have a current 2024 Golf Cart permit to operate a golf cart on the streets and to park within the restricted parking areas. Please remove previous year’s stickers, Officers will not search your Golf Cart for a current permit. If permits are not placed correctly, you can be ticketed. Tickets carry a fine of $200 for each violation
