“People come together in cafes in Turkey—lovers, writers, families. I wanted that vibe to be accessible here.”

Elif Uzun and Aziz Aslan proudly opened Oklava Cafe last summer and it has quickly become the Bay Area’s latest hit pastry and coffee shop. Ever since Sheryl Nonnenberg covered Sonoma’s Donum Estate in PUNCH’s September 2022 issue, contributing editor Sheri Baer has wanted to schedule an outdoor art sculpture and wine tasting experience with her parents. By booking an ATV tour to allow for mobility issues, they finally did it. “We shared a truly magical day!” she says. “And I love that we took advantage of our own tip from PUNCH!”

Jane continues to create murals that encourage viewers to rethink their relationship to nature and its unavoidable intersection with man-made life.
