Do you know what this proposed amendment below means?

Amendment # 3

The amendment would delete this current language and replace it with the following language:

“Slavery and involuntary servitude are forever prohibited. Nothing in this section shall prohibit an inmate from working when the inmate has been duly convicted of a crime.”

Question:
Simply put, did you know that this means that a company that has policy against hiring “Exfelons”, can hire “inmates” who are convicted of the same crimes?

This does not mean that ex-felons can now get a job anywhere!

Note:
Inmate is defined as someone restricted to an institution such as a jail or hospital.

FYI:
Ex-felon is defined as someone who has been convicted of a felony crime and has served his or her time and who is currently in the free world.
