Did you see the partial annualar eclipse earlier this afternoon? Satellite showed the eclipse traversing the Western United States. Partial eclipse views were seen through broken clouds here.
Starting our Saturday morning with a line of thunderstorms moving northward. We will see more of these during the daytime. Locally heavy rain will accompany any storms today.

Scattered heavy rain showers associated with the remnants of Nicole are moving north-northwest this morning.
Radar loop at 5:43 am is showing everything advancing this way.
Since late summer our part of the world has dealt with long, extended dry spells and that has brought on drought conditions.
Between now and Thanksgiving we are going to flip the pattern as we see several rounds of precipitation.
#Nicole starting tonight and possibly two southern stream systems for next week. This is great news for drought areas!
#Nicole has made the transition over to a purely tropical cyclone. It will continue WSW and then west toward the Florida coastline where it will make landfall late Wednesday. Quite impressive for November.

Radar update at 5:53 pm continues to paint a soggy picture for most folks west of 321. That will continue through the early evening hours. Everything is moving south to north.
The birds know what is coming and they are flying south. Check out radar…. That’s not rain. That is the radar returns showing birds that are flying south (and some ground clutter mixed in as well).
Radar at 7:03 pm loaded with moderate to occasionally heavy precipitation. Some of it might slacken off East of 321 after 8 pm but west of NC-18, we are locked in for a while.
Radar update at 1:47 pm showing light showers along the Blue with a heavier rain band over Charlotte Metro. Some wind gusts of 35-40 mph are being recorded with the heavier returns. Precip will continue to move northwest.
