As owner and publisher of Dateline Marion, this is a project that is near and dear to my heart. My good friend in Haiti has started a school for children ages 3 through 12, and many of the students can't pay the tuition. It costs approximately $1,500 to pay 13 teachers for a month. That is only $115 per month to live on. I know there are many of you out there who can pledge a one-time gift or a monthly contribution to this worthy cause. School has started and we are receiving more students than ever before. Because we are trying to provide an education for students in Damien between the ages of 3 and 12, we need your help.

Equipping Haiti has started a fundraiser to come up with $15,000 to fund our school for an entire year. It would be a tremendous relief to be able to assure our teachers and staff that we can pay their salaries. May of the students and their families cannot pay the tuition, but we want to be able to provide them with an education to help break the cycle of poverty in Haiti. The first monthly payday is coming up Oct. 31.

ATTENTION SENIOR PARENTS!

For the last several years, I have taken and posted a photo album of all of the seniors with their parents (Football, Cheer, Dance, Band and the Fall Sports) that are recognized on Football Senior night. However, this year, with my radio responsibilities, I will be unable to provide that service.

Because of that, I would recommend reaching out to Justin Walker for photos. I realize it won't be free, but he is very reasonably priced and he does an outstanding job with photos.

With that said, congratulations to all of the Seniors and thank you for making us proud with your representation of Marion High School!!
