The target audience of fast fashion retailers is largely consumers aged 18 to 24

A 2016 study found that brands consciously target young consumers, often students with low incomes, with females of this age group found to shop in fast fashion retailers more than any other demographic groups. Not surprisingly, cheap prices and trendy styles are the key attractions for such audiences. In fact, the authors of the study argue that young consumers are usually more willing to sacrifice premium quality for a lower price and more variety.

The average person only wears 20% of their clothes 80% of the time.

The modern shopping model – which relies on rapid production and cheap deals – encourages excessive consumption as people are inherently attracted to low-priced goods. For individual buyers, it is also easier and more economic to sn**ch up cheap clothes that have short lifespans compared to splurging on high-quality, long-lasting pieces that will very shortly fall out of popularity. Yet, despite owning large quantities of fashion items, studies show that most people wear the same things over and over, while in most cases at least 50% of their wardrobe is left untouched.

Brenda, Ali, and Jason had the opportunity to attend the grand opening of RD Thomas Advertising' new facility on Milwaukee between 50th and 82nd St. The facility was impressive, and the hosts were incredibly gracious. We had the chance to reconnect with familiar faces and even meet some individuals we haven't seen in quite some time. It was wonderful to see RD Thomas' new space, as we have a strong working relationship with them, providing models and actors. We are genuinely thrilled for their move to this amazing new facility.

Muscle pain is something some models deal with, and it’s not from sporting. Striking strange poses with unnatural contortions or being photographed in a very cold place, where the days usually last nine hours, often takes its toll. “No amount of hot drinks and blankets will loosen up the shoulders, neck, and back the next day,” revealed one girl inside the industry.

If it can be annoying for us to wake up with a pimple, it is more so for a model, as casting agents, makeup artists, and photographers usually wait for a girl with a face free of imperfections. Therefore, they typically have their beauty tips for maintaining a healthy complexion.

To get rid of the problem quickly, they sometimes resort to methods that will make a dermatologist squirm. For example, Tina Johnson claims that applying vinegar as a face toner, although painful, effectively eliminates acne overnight. On the other hand, Thais Borges dries her pimples instantly by using some cinnamon powder.

Did you know some models use cocoa powder instead of shampoo.

Models’ hair is subjected to various treatments, from backcombing or heat styling changes to holding sculptural accessories clinging to their hair. So it’s unsurprising that they try to prevent further damage and dryness, preferring not to wash their hair daily.

Although dry shampoo might seem like a good idea in this situation, some models like Emily Didonato prefer to give their hair a break from chemicals by using cocoa powder. According to her, cocoa is excellent for absorbing oils from dark hair.

A huge congratulations to RSA model Chloe Conover. Yesterday the All Saints Episcopal School senior singed her National Letter of Intent to play collegiate volleyball.

Chloe Conover committed to play D1 Volleyball for the Bethune Cookman Wildcats in Daytona Beach, Florida. She will report to the Bethune Cookman campus in June. Conover said her immediate plans when she begins her volleyball career at Bethune Cookman is “to improve my skills and work at the next level of volleyball.”

“I credit all my coaches and teammates for always pushing me to be the best I can be,” Conover said. “They always compete with me and make me want to do better. My teachers have always been so supportive too.”

“My favorite memories of volleyball at All Saints is spending time with the girls and coaches, especially our mosh pits in the locker room before games,” Conover said.

All Saints Varsity Volleyball Coach Levi Savage has coached Conover all four years as a member of his varsity team. “Chloe has continually shown exponential growth in each year of her high school career. She has shown growth in her volleyball game but more importantly growth as a person,” Savage said.
“I am positive that Bethune Cookman will be a better university once Chloe is on their campus. I am looking forward to seeing her continue to grow and push boundaries in the next chapter of her life,” Savage said.

Conover has been a starting member of the school’s Varsity Volleyball team all four years of high school playing the Right Side position. She has received numerous district, area, and state awards during each of her seasons including the Texas Association of Private and Parochial School’s (TAPPS) 2A First team All State, Academic All state, District MVP, USA Juniors Volleyball Female Honoree, and Hub City Preps Spark Off the Bench. She was a starting player in 2021 when the Patriots won the TAPPS 2A State Volleyball Championship.

Her volleyball experiences have been strengthened by playing Lubbock’s Next Level Club Volleyball for three years during off season. “I’m now playing with Texas 432 Club in Midland,” Conover said. “We are preparing for the United States Volleyball Association (USAV) Texas Lone Star Tournament in Dallas and hope to earn a Bid to the USAV National Championships planned this summer in Minneapolis.”

Conover has participated in numerous organizations at All Saints including Varsity Basketball, Varsity Track, Varsity Cheer, Varsity Dance, Varsity Theatre, and National Honor Society. In addition to winning awards for volleyball she has also won awards for TAPPS District and State Track, TAPPS State Dance, TAPPS District and State Best Actress, and the 2021 TAPPS 2A State One Act Play Championship.

In addition to her collegiate scholarship, Conover is also receiving a Presidential Scholarship from Bethune Cookman. She plans to major in Elementary Education.

Conover is the daughter of Susan and Jay Conover. She has attended All Saints since 2008 when she enrolled as a preschool student.

Chloe attended the Dallas Model and Talent Expo and did incredibly well. Getting call backs from several top agencies. We hope while in Florida she will be able to still pursue her modeling and acting passion.
