🍂 riding the telluride gondola in the fall has been on my bucket list since moving to colorado. it is truly an ICONIC experience and the best thing about it is that it is totally FREE.
🚡 the telluride gondola is a free transportation system that connects the town of telluride with mountain village that offers stunning views of the San Juan Mountains.
⏱️ the gondola is open 7 days a week from 6:30 AM to midnight during the summer and winter seasons. it is operating until october 20th, and reopens for the winter season on november 22nd.
🚠 the gondola spans about 3 miles and takes about 13 minutes to travel from telluride to mountain village.
🚲 it is wheelchair accessible, pet-friendly (for leashed dogs), and has bike racks in the summer for mountain bikers.
🍁 there are three main stations—telluride, mountain village, and a mid-point station at san sophia, which is a popular spot for hiking and skiing access.
🏔️ always check for any changes or seasonal closures on the official website before visiting.
the town of telluride is beautiful no matter the season. it has so many good restaurants, breweries, hiking trails, and hotels to choose from! you really can’t go wrong when you’re visiting this mountain town

📌 head to Paradise Visitor Area, located on the south side of the park
🛖 visit the Henry M Jackson Memorial Visitor Center which offers general information, exhibits, the park film, guided ranger programs, a book/gift store, and cafeteria.
🥾hike the Skyline Trail. it’s a moderate to strenuous loop that takes you through alpine meadows, offering incredible views of Mount Rainier.
💦 alternatively, you can take the short trail to Martha Falls, if you are really pressed on time.
🌯 visit the historic Paradise Inn to grab some lunch.
☀️ if time permits, visit Reflection Lakes for sunset.
