I finally posted when I said I would!
Today’s drawing is dedicated to the beautiful pink patch, whose new design was actually overseen by an OPD officer.

While many of my followers aren’t local, I wanted to share info about Oxnard PD’s pink patch. Directly from the Oxnard Police Department:

“The Oxnard Police Department has raised over $50,000 for the battle against breast cancer since joining the "Pink Patch Project" movement in 2018, and we are continuing our fundraising efforts for this important cause here in 2021. This year, the Oxnard
Police Community Foundation, with the assistance of many local sponsors, will be facilitating the fundraiser to raise money for Ribbons of Life Breast Cancer Foundation, a local nonprofit which is a non-institutional, independent grassroots organization which provides breast cancer education, advocacy, and emotional and social support to the County of Ventura.”

I posted this a while back, but I wanted to post about the events that followed.
This drawing was made back in late 2020 for a series of portraits featuring all three of the PD’s chiefs. Surprisingly enough, I never showed it to the person it was intended for! Fast forward to July of this year, I show him the drawing. He loves it, but then I don’t. Why? Because it was 5 months old!
15 more hours of tedious painting, and a couple weeks later I share it with him again. He loves it and wants it printed, I go and get it printed and..ta dah, Assistant Chief Sonstegard becomes the first person to have one of my drawings as a print! Thank you so much for the support.

We will always remember the 2,977 victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. We honor the courage and heroism displayed by the 412 first responders and so many more civilians who made the selfless ultimate sacrifice to help others during the attacks. Our thoughts are with all victims' families, and all whose lives were forever changed twenty years ago today.

More sketchy version of my usual paintings, the original sketch was made during a meeting I was at with my good friend Paul, so he can testify to the fact that my sketches are in pen and indeed that messy! I also hope Chief doesn’t mind the drawing 😅
