The poem below, Mother's Day Wish, was originally written is 1980, over 40 years ago. Today this minute modification is dedicated to all the mothers in my family, many of them pictured above. The piece is especially dedicated to my mother, Phyllis B. LaRue, who was blessed to celebrate her 90th birthday on February 9, 2023. MOTHER’S DAY WISH

You’ll find good mothers in many places if you look
But you’re the Greatest Mother in my book
You raised me up and you fix a mighty good meal
When it comes to mothers, I have a very good deal
I received the best of care, and you treated me well
You taught me to deal with life, help me up as I fell
I’m so happy because I have a good start
I 've got a Mom who is strong and also pretty smart
I was born a small child, you'vdone all you can
You gave me limits, but they never got out of hand
You gave me love and warmth to help keep me in line
So as I think of mothers I’m sure I truly love mine
Yes, I love you Mom with all my heart and soul
You wanted to be the best, you reached your goal
Coming from your child, speaking from what I see
You’re the World’s Greatest Mom, take it from me
You have a beautiful heart, and you truly do care
this is but a bit of what I want to share
I could never thank you enough so I send this instead
Because I'm proud of you Mom and it went to my head
I praise the Lord for you and for all that you give
I'll be loving you Mom for as long as I live
You started out as a lovely mother and you stayed that way
So please sit back and enjoy every Mother’s Day
