It was so nice seeing you all, and we are thrilled to have a spot for our monthly hangouts. Huge thanks and appreciation to Dina Juntila and to Rick, Mike, Carlos, Kadu, and the ENTIRE staff at Delicious Pizza / for hosting us and the amazing hospitality. Hey friends! Head over to The Frida Cinema THIS Friday for an encore screening of Michele Soavi’s 1994 horror classic, CEMETERY MAN, newly restored in 4K for its 30th anniversary! Actress Fabiana Formica will be doing an introduction before the film and a Q&A afterward with our very own Ethan Hull! And as an added bonus, the Severin Films team will have a merch table and will selling all the latest releases before and after the screening!
Something is causing the dead to rise from their graves as flesh-eating zombies, and cemetery custodian Francesco Dellamorte (Rupert Everett) grows tired of killing them all for the second time. However, the town politicians won’t listen to him, so Francesco is on his own. One day, he falls for a beautiful woman (Anna Falchi) whose husband has recently died — but their affair is tragically interrupted by zombies, sending Francesco into a tailspin of madness and woe.

Friday 8/25! Join us for the exciting collaboration between & for a special screening of the 70s spectral horror classic, The Amityville Horror! (On 16mm)
Since 2008, RENDEZVOUS has been LA’s premier DJ collective specializing exclusively in library music and late 60's through early 80's soundtracks. During the past 15 years, they have forged working partnerships with a variety of film and record companies including Severin Films, Grindhouse Releasing, Vinegar Syndrome, Death Waltz/Mondo, Finders Keepers Records, and the American Genre Film Archive (AGFA). They have also worked with and hosted guest DJs and presenters such as Adrian Younge, Mario Caldato, Jr. (Beastie Boys), Kier-La Janisse, and Bob Murawski, to name a few. Their 10 year tenure at the Hyperion Tavern saw them create unique film-going experiences by following keenly-curated film screenings of giallo, horror, and exploitation films with DJ sets accompanied by projected visuals. Now – RENDEZVOUS is excited to bring their one-of-a-kind experiences to The Philosophical Research Society for a bi-monthly residency!
For their inaugural event, RENDEZVOUS is teaming up with See It On 16MM to present a rare 16mm print – on LPP film stock and with vibrant colors – of the 1979 haunted house classic The Amityville Horror!
See It On 16MM is a traveling film projection pop up, run by Mikey Aguirre. Armed with a print collection that ranges from Hollywood classics, exploitation, horror and genre films, and everything in between, See It On 16mm has been bringing back the film projection experience to theaters and venues that are not equipped for film exhibition. Since 2020, See It On 16MM has been doing monthly residencies at multiple theaters, programming festivals and marathons, and touring across the United States with projectors and prints in hand. Aguirre’s is an awesome one man operation with no end in sight!
Screening will be followed by special sets from RENDEZVOUS DJs with a selection of beers available for purchase!
