I had the pleasure of attending The Sesh this past Saturday and it was an experience like no other. I had such an amazing time, connected with a lot of amazing people and it felt good to be recognized by someone who I have a lot of love and respect for. Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls 🍓

Who remembers these? This is a quick and easy dessert for those who don’t have time for all of that kneading, rolling, and rising! Satisfy your sweet tooth with these Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls. You won’t be disappointed. I GUARANTEE that. I had to run these back on this good Thursday evening. The whole house and neighborhood was standing in the kitchen before I could get them out of the oven saying, “Are you done taking pictures and videos yet?” 😂

These Hawaiian Lamb Chops though 😩🙌🏾

Real Yaad Food 🇯🇲🔥🙌🏾

This is the Paper Plate Chronicles and a proper Jamaican Sunday Dinner. Pictured here, is my plate of Ackee & Saltfish, Curry Goat w/ Potatoes & Carrots, Gungo Peas & Rice, Jerk Chicken topped w/ my father’s secret sauce, and Salad (Raw Veg). I washed it all down w/ Fresh Pineapple Ginger Juice

When mi seh mi ah run a boat, ah dis mi mean! Listen, the BEST food is cooked on a wood fire. Mi nuh ask Christ! As you can see, mi bad inside and outside! Inna di kitchen pon di stove or outside pon wood fire! It nuh matter!

For those who don’t know, “Running A Boat" is an old time Jamaican past time, and traditionally it is outdoor cooking with food gathered amongst friends and family on a very short notice! In my family, we do it often and it is ALWAYS a good time. Anytime we “feel fi sumn nice”, we run a boat. After all, we don’t need a whole lot to have fun. Food, Music, Drinks, and some Games is good enough for us to catch a vibe!

Anyway, it’s 81 degrees in Atlanta today and it’s going to be in the 80s all next week and I’m EXCITED ok?! We’re outside on the deck enjoying some good food, drinks, and music. It’s a beautiful Sunday. Did anybody cook today? If so, what’s on the menu? Let me know in the comment section below!

It’s Monday right? 👀👀👀

Get into these Red Beans & Rice! This is a Monday special in New Orleans as it is traditionally eaten on Mondays. It’s DELICIOUS all by itself, but if you’re feeling fancy, fry a couple pieces of Chicken and make a nice pan of Cornbread and you have a MEAL!

Rice & Peas 🇯🇲

A Sunday tradition in Jamaican household, a staple dish of the island, and The Most Eaten Jamaican Food'! A GUARANTEE that if you walk into any Jamaican household right now, there’s some Rice & Peas on the stove! It’s just customary. Just like with all Jamaican dishes, you CANNOT cut corners or sub ingredients. It has to be done the RIGHT way or not at all. Jamaicans are VERY serious about EVERY element of our culture, especially the cuisine. Word of Advice, if the rice is white, it ain’t right! Don’t say Meallionaire never told you anything!

Plantain Festival🇯🇲 So I was supposed to make Banana Festival with my Escovitch Fish for Good Friday, but I didn’t have a ripe banana, so I used a ripe Yellow Plantain! Of course my family was like what are you doing? Because anything they aren’t use to gets the side eye at first, but because I don’t miss, they trusted the process and it was a HIT! Soft, Fluffy, Sweet, and DELICIOUS! I always want my Festival to look as pretty as the ones you get at Gloria’s or Hellshire in Jamaica. If you know, you know! These were AMAZING! I’m definitely going to try this again with a ripe Banana and then I’m going to blend the Plantain next time just to see if there’s any difference! What do you guys think? Easter Dinner🇯🇲 Easter was the Sunday before last and I’m still getting calls about Easter Dinner! I was supposed to be in Jamaica partying and celebrating my 30th birthday, but I moved into a new home and I had to settle in. Since I didn’t travel, I decided to break my new stove and oven in with a proper spread. We had Jerk BBQ Short Ribs, Rice and Peas, Mac and Cheese, Plantain, and Salad w/ Pineapple Guava Punch(video has been posted) and it was DELICIOUS! Can you tell it was made with love?! Is it me or are we losing recipes. I didn’t see a lot of children dressed up for Easter or any Easter Egg Hunts. Easter was a big deal when I was growing up, but these new parents are different.
