We’ve had an incredible year and 2026 looks to be even bigger. One of the biggest numbers of the year has been the over $25,000 we have saved for nonprofits. Children's Advocacy Centers offer many vital services to help children who have gone through abusive experiences. One of the most pivotal is the Forensic Interview Process. The goal of a forensic interview is to obtain a statement from a child in a developmentally sensitive, unbiased, and legally defensible manner to support accurate and fair decision-making in the criminal justice and child welfare systems. This is done with the involvement of local law enforcement, CPS, and any others who may be involved in the process of helping with a child's traumatic experience. CACMI offers support and training for these processes with the goal of better serving not only the providers there, but also the child who has to share their story.

In a series of videos, Children's Advocacy Centers of Michigan wanted to highlight their services through the centers they support. This video gives some of the directors of CACs across Michigan the opportunity to not only shed light on the support they receive from CACMI but also a chance to thank them for their partnership.

Children’s Advocacy Centers of Michigan (CACMI) partners with Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) throughout the state to create thriving communities where children and families can flourish. As the backbone of Michigan’s statewide network, CACMI, established in 2007, supports and empowers local CACs, with the first one in the state dating back to 1990, to deliver vital services.

Today, with our help, over 90% of Michigan’s children have access to a CAC. We assist with accreditation, work to increase funding at the state and federal levels, advocate for critical policy, and provide technical assistance and training—all so that we can empower local centers to focus on putting an end to child abuse and supporting children and families.

For years, a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and the Lenawee Intermediate School District thrived with opportunities to give students real world experience building homes and supporting their local neighbors. These trade skills were incredibly invaluable and taught students all the way from the basics to how to build a home. Unfortunately, the program halted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, the partnership is breathing new life and will continue soon within the school systems and community!

Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County hosted its annual Farm to Table dinner event, aiming to showcase the various ways it supports the community through its services. This video was created to highlight their repair program. At its heart, the Repair Program aims to assist those who need help with a structural repair to their home. In this case, we were able to capture a beautiful story of a ramp installation to help a family with a special need.
