A crowd gathered outside Rep. Tom Barrett's office on Monday, demanding a town hall to voice concerns over Trump administration budget cuts and Elon Musk’s influence. While Barrett’s staff argued a conversation wouldn’t be productive, local activists and constituents are pushing for action and accountability.

“Town hall now,” chanted a crowd of nearly 250 Monday outside the office of U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett R-Charlotte.

Braving the cold and a canceled event, passionate protesters gathered in Lansing to make their voices heard in the nationwide 'Not My President’s Day' protest. ❄️🔥 Despite setbacks, the resilience and unity of the people shone through as they stood up for women’s rights, transgender rights, the environment, and more.

When Branden Pecor of Grand Rapids braved a winter storm and subzero windchills on Monday to protest outside the Michigan Capitol, she did not realize the event had been canceled.

Despite the cold and snow, the fight to save Eastern High School is far from over. ❄️💪 Andrew Muylle and other passionate community members are standing strong against UM-Sparrow’s plan to demolish the historic school for a new psychiatric hospital. The coalition is determined to preserve the west wing and the Jon Young auditorium—significant parts of our cultural identity—while still supporting mental health progress.

“It’s still there,” Andrew Muylle, an Eastside resident and 2013 Eastern High School alumnus, said. “The windows are boarded, but it’s still there, and we want to do everything we can.”
