Step into Detroit’s past through The Searching Eye at the Library of Michigan. Featuring Norman Zadoorian’s striking black-and-white photography from the mid-20th century, this exhibit captures the gritty beauty of the city and its people. Curated with essays by his son, Michael Zadoorian, it’s a glimpse into a bygone era of Detroit. On display in the Lake Erie Room until Dec. 20, don’t miss this chance to see life through Zadoorian’s lens.

The Library of Michigan has turned its second-floor Lake Erie Room into a photo gallery featuring the work of the late Norman Zadoorian, who shot thousands of moody black-and-white photographs of Detroit in the mid-20th century.
