Sad update: The man pulled from the rubble of a home explosion yesterday has died. Authorities have identified him as 68-year-old Leland Holden.
Authorities say the man who was pulled from the rubble of a La Fayette Township home explosion Tuesday and airlifted to a hospital has died.
After the suspect's vehicle crashed near Beloit Sunday following a chase, authorities say they found ma*****na in separate packages for distribution, 20 grams of co***ne and crack co***ne in the man's vehicle.
A Milwaukee man who authorities say had drugs in his vehicle was arrested Sunday after he led them on a chase down I-43 where he eventually crashed in Rock County.

The National Weather Service has confirmed 2 EF1 tornadoes caused damage Saturday night in Walworth County.

There are still several roads in Williams Bay that are impassable. Williams Bay Streets and Highway Department are working to clear these, however if powerlines are entangled, we need to wait for power to assist in safe removal.

As you all know, last night's Dave Matthews Band show at Alpine Valley was postponed due to extreme weather conditions. We hoped to reschedule to tonight but were unable to due to elements outside of our control. The show is rescheduled for Sunday, June 30. Incident type: Water Rescue on Lake Como
At 5:05pm on June 16th, the Lake Geneva Fire Department was dispatched to the north shore of Lake Como for a sinking boat with victims in the water. A water rescue response was deployed, bringing numerous emergency vehicles and responders to the scene, including the Town of Geneva Police Department and the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department.
Due to the quick actions of the on-duty Town of Geneva police officers and the use of their police boat, two victims were successfully retrieved from the water.
The victims were evaluated by EMS and released.
Chief John Peters commented: “boaters should be aware of changing weather conditions. The risk of swamping, capsizing, falling overboard, or hitting a floating object increases in stormy weather, so out on the water the most important equipment on board is always a Coast Guard-approved life jacket for all passengers. And plan on the side of caution. Careful attention to marine weather forecasts and staying alert to sudden changes can help keep both good times and safety at a maximum”.

Delavan has a new EV charging station downtown.
Delavan’s newest EV charging station is operational. Located near the downtown, in the Municipal Building parking lot, next to the American Legion Hall. This Level 2 charger is now available for users.

The Division 2 and 3 Boys Pole Vault definitely did not disappoint during the first day of the 2024 WIAA Track & Field State Championships! For nearly 45 minutes, Kaden Rambatt (D2-Big Foot) and Sam Crenshaw (D3-Bangor) went back and forth setting State Meet Records on neighboring pits.
Sam closed out his senior season clearing 16-6, setting the D3 Boys Pole Vault State Record and defending his State Title from last season.
Moments later, Kaden set the all-time, all-division WIAA State Meet Record with a 17-2 vault. According to Track & Field News, this is a top five vault this season, nationwide! He also defended his State Title from last season and broke the record he set last season.

Police say the suspects' vehicle reached speeds of 100 miles per hour during the pursuit from Darien into Rock County until it was disabled with spike strips.
Three Illinois men were arrested following a chase early Wednesday after police were called to a suspected burglary in Darien.
