TALENT CASTING - PRODUCTION SERVICES - CONSULTING - WORKSHOPS
Artistic Enterprises was founded in the late 1980’s by Judy Welker. It was then, and remains today, Indiana’s ONLY full-service talent casting company. Prior to opening Artistic Enterprises she had some pretty important jobs. First she was an actress. In the early 70’s she was arguably the Indy theater scene’s favorite ingenue. She was a go-go boot, mini skirt wearing hottie at trade shows. For a few years she was recognized around town as being the mermaid in the hilarious L. Fish Furniture commercials. Meanwhile, she and her husband Skip were busy raising SEVEN kids: Mark, Jeff, Michelle, Drew, Jason and the twins, Shawn and Shane.
In the middle 80’s, she was approached by her then talent rep to come to work at Act 1 Model and Talent Agency. She accepted the challenge and found she had a real knack for spotting unique talent and coaxing excellent performances out of even the most timid of candidates. Through her great sense of humor and nurturing encouragement, Judy was raising the caliber of talent in the market and it didn’t go unnoticed.
When she was approached by one of the city’s most prominent commercial directors of the era to take her unique skill set to the next level and open a casting company, she took the leap and Artistic Enterprises, Inc. was born! In a few years her only daughter, Michelle Moore, joined her team. Shortly after, her husband Skip jumped aboard too! Each of them actors, each of them directors, each of them teachers. A triple threat team of talent casting experts!
