This page is a potpourri of my favorite things, mainly devoted to my love of Americana & Texas/Red Dirt music and my photography. I have been called a "Jill of all trades," which is pretty accurate. I first fell in love with radio listening to my Tom & Jerry transistor while walking to & from school in San Antonio, Texas when I was in first grade. I have been drawing all my life, taught myself emb
roidery & needlecrafts by reading books starting when I was about 7. I got my first camera around 9 years old, just before my family moved to the Dominican Republic for a short time, then on the Madrid, Spain. Many of those early photos feature architecture and nature, as well as candid shots of family & friends. I learned to tie-dye & run a sewing machine in home economics in 6th grade on Torrejon AFB. Living overseas also deepened my radio love, because we didn't have English speaking media, outside of Armed Forces Radio- I'd wait for Casey Kasem's countdown all week, and listen to old radio serials like "The Shadow" in between. I have been an avid reader all of my life, which explains my interest in writing. After graduating from Smithson Valley High School in Spring Branch, TX, I attended Bauder Fashion College in Arlington, Tx, where I studied interior design & textile arts. Later I went on to San Antonio College, where I studied Radio, Television & Film. Been in radio ever since, and did plenty of radio related photography, plus picked up a few writing gigs along the way- I have been featured in Lone Star Music Magazine, and spent a year as a staff member on the Aransas Pass Progress/ Ingelside Index newspapers. Soooo...that's how I came to do all this stuff!
