Boy With Box Theatre Company's first production will be "The 39 Steps." It runs this weekend at Center Theater Company in Carrboro.

Well, well, well... we're finally here! TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE for our premiere production, The 39 Steps!!

Here are Boy With Box, we at committed to presenting as many free theatre experiences as possible. In accordance with that mission, we are very excited to announce that tickets for the Saturday evening show will be Pay-What-You-Can. This means you can pay whatever amount you'd like to reserve your ticket, even if it's nothing at all. Tickets for all other shows will be $10.

This week on WHUP's Lights Up! broadcast, we talked with Cameron Waters and Missy Sullivan about Blue Box Theatre Company and their upcoming production of Cyrano. From Henderson Rec Players, Dustin Britt joined us to discuss directing The Crucible at McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center. We heard from Jim Waddelow who spoke with us about White Iris Light Opera and their production of "No, No, Nanette." We wrapped up the broadcast with Avery Wadehra talking about Boy With Box Theatre Company and their inaugural production, "The 39 Steps" at Center Theater Company.

This week on WHUP's Lights Up! broadcast, we talked with director Erinn Dearth and one of the cast members of Spring Theatre's upcoming production of "Peter and the Starcatcher." From Camel City Playhouse, we spoke with Chris Cannon and Anna LaVenture about being a part of the cast of "Hair." We discussed Sunrise Live, the community theatre arm of Sunrise Theater in Southern Pines, with Amy Damone-Hammac, the director of their upcoming production of "The Sound of Music." We wrapped up the broadcast with Mike McGee talking about directing Between the Lines for North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre.

The North Carolina Playwrights Lab and Capital Arts Theater Guild has two readings of new works this weekend: "Sitting For Suzie," by Albert Dulin, has its first reading on Saturday at 3:00, while "Sea Change," by Tamara Kissane, has its second reading on Sunday at 3:00. Both readings will be at the Theatre Raleigh studio theatre.

At her beach cottage on Pawleys Island, SC, Suzie Turner, nationally known painter, awaits the arrival of her son Grey, a Chicago heart surgeon. He is there to have his portrait done for a new hospital wing. As he sits for his mother, old wounds surface and painful secrets are revealed, all while a hurricane is about to hit the island.
