Brenda Kay Owens Blanton, 75, of Shelbyville, KY, formerly of Coldiron, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was a homemaker and believed in the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ephie Stanley Blanton, Jr.; her parents, Carl Owens and Mildred Davis Delph; two brothers, Kendall Davis and Wendall Davis; and one sister, Carolyn Duncan.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Blanton Creque and husband, Ron, Shelbyville, KY; four grandchildren, Blanton Creque, Lindsay Creque Harrod, Zachary Creque and Abigail Creque; and one great-grandchild, Saylor Creque.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, in the chapel of the Loyall Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. in Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Loyall Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Brenda Kay Owens Blanton.

Hollie Jeanne Carr Trigg, 68 of Harlan passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 21, 2024 at her home following a two year battle with cancer.

Hollie was born in Harlan on December 12, 1955 and was raised in Closplint, KY by her parents, James Carr, Sr and Sarah Louise Moore (Worthington).

She loved exploring the outdoors with her siblings, especially her older brothers, Vestelle and Ernest "Bugle". An accomplished student, Hollie graduated from Harlan High School and studied criminal justice at Eastern Kentucky University. On August 2, 1980, Hollie married her high school sweetheart, Michael Trigg. In 1992 she was studying to become a teacher when she became pregnant and had her beloved son, Cole.

Late in life, Hollie delivered newspapers for the Harlan Daily Enterprise. She also provided care for older members of her family, more specifically her mother. She advocated for various civil rights causes.

Hollie was raised in the Baptist tradition and spent some years attending First Baptist Church in Harlan. Later, she started watching the legendary Bishop G.E. Patterson of the Church of God in Christ on television and YouTube.

Hollie was the epitome of love and resilience. An unapologetic truth teller. She brought a smile to everyone she met with her comedic genius. Her favorite place in the world was Myrtle Beach, SC. She enjoyed watching exciting shows/films on Netflix, listening to old school soul music, eating delicious food, visting antique buildings, hearing good jokes, and reading her bible. Above all else, Hollie cherished spending time with her loving son, Cole.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Carr, Sr and Sarah Louise Moore; grandparents, John Dewey Moore and Frankie Moore; siblings, Thomas Dewey, Sondra, Sandra Jean, Lawrence Vestelle, and Ernest "Bugle" Ray Carr.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael Trigg; son, Patrick Ray Cole Trigg; sisters, Mary Carr Jackson, Joni Moore, Connie Macklin and Yolanda Missy Henderson; brothers, James "June" Carr, Jr, Michael (Katye) Carr, Frank (Lynn) Carr and Phillip Carr; she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will 12:00 Saturday (Dec. 7) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home, 114 South 3rd Street, Harlan, KY 40831

A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Brian Hall, 56 of Cawood, KY departed this world and met his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Brian was a devoted Christian believing in the Baptist faith and a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by the love of his life of 30 years, his wife Lisa and five children: Matthew Hall (Kathy), Ashley Hall Creech (Derek), Danielle Hall Asher (Bobby), Claudia Hall Ison (James) and Brett Albergo. With those children came the most precious gift, his grandchildren, Hailie Hensley, Callie Creech, Mahalah Hall, Hunter Asher, Audrey Creech, Paisleigh Asher and Izzy Ison.

Brian is preceded in death by his grandson, Jaxon Ison; his mother, Betty Barrett Hall and his in-laws, Joseph and Barbara Albergo.

His other survivors include his special aunt, Bertha Bonham; his special friends, Don Walker and John Carroll who were devoted and by his side for many years.

Brian’s family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Howard Baker Cancer Center in Harrogate, TN; the Bluegrass Care Navigators-Hospice for the love and care provided; to his church family at Calvary Baptist Church in Loyall, KY for aways loving, praying and being his support.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 2-PM at the Calvary Baptist Church in Loyall, KY with the Rev. David Overbay officiating. The family will also receive friends on Friday from 11-AM until the funeral hour.

The family of Brian would like to ask that in lieu of flowers please make expressions of sympathy to the Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

On behalf of the staff of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home we would like to offer our heart-felt sympathy to the family of Brian, during their time of bereavement.

🦃🍁 Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! 🍁🦃

From Big Dan, Earl, Dave, Pete, and all the gang here at the Dinner Bell Roundup on Wild Country 105.1, we want to send a heapin’ helpin’ of love, gratitude, and warm wishes to you and yours this holiday.

Whether you’re gatherin’ around the table with family, roastin’ marshmallows by the fire, or sneakin’ a second piece of pumpkin pie (we won’t judge!), today’s a time to reflect on the good Lord’s blessings and the folks who make our lives richer.

We’re mighty thankful for all of you who tune in, laugh with us, and share your afternoons. Y’all are the heart and soul of this roundup, and we couldn’t ask for a better radio family.
