James Ray Hall, 69, of Putney, Kentucky, departed this world on August 16th, 2024, due to a tragic accident.

James was born on September 26th, 1954, to Jack and Juanita Hall in Harlan, KY. For 39 years, James worked as a dedicated coal miner. Aside from spending time with family, James enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to music, and watching NASCAR on the weekends.

James lived a life filled with love and laughter, encountering a friend everywhere he went. He was incredibly generous, doing anything he could to protect and support those he loved. Taking on the role of a father when he didn't have to, he provided his children with the most treasured memories. He was known by many names, had endless catchphrases, and a heart of gold.

James’s memory and legacy are carried on by his beloved wife of 23 years, Brenda Rose Hall, his brothers, Tommy Hall and Jerry Hall, and a incredible father to: Lindsay Hall, Haley Sperry, Alexandria Chambers, Samantha Sperry, Darra Huff, and Jessica Deal. James was blessed with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. We also want to acknowledge a special family member and friend, Ronnie Cornett.

We honor his memory by remembering him for his warm heart, his wonderful sense of humor, his knack for fixing things, his love for the outdoors, and the joyful moments he shared while dancing in the kitchen with Brenda. His presence occupied a huge space in our lives, and although he is no longer with us, his memory will always be cherished.

James has been reunited with his son James Eric Hall, his parents Jack and Juanita Hall, and his brother Danny Hall and sister-in-law Lisa Gale Hall.

There will be a private service held for immediate family and friends to celebrate his life.
