Today’s a big day at our house. It’s our annual adoption day celebration with our girls. We’re so grateful to be their parents and love learning about them and the things that make them special.

Find the thermoflask and other deals in the prime day section. When we got to the park we had no idea it would be that hot 🥵. Then they closed the splash pad for maintenance. 🤪😵 I’m so thankful we had cold water in our or I don’t think we would have made it.

I just helped The Oasis go live. It's a great place to stay for a solo traveler or a couple. It has a modern, cozy feel and is conveniently located near the beach. The owner has done a great job of decorating and making it comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need and has a relaxing pool area filled with fragrant plants and herbs.

OK. The truth is, I said bye to photography. I wanted to leave it behind for good. But let's be real... This is my thing. I've spent lots of time and money perfecting my craft. I'm not going anywhere.

But I did make some changes. I'm not marketing it like I used to. And I'm not following any set plan on how to run my business either. If I want to network, I will. If I want to post, I will. But if I'm overwhelmed and need a break, I'll do that too. If someone calls me for their family session, I'm still here. But I'll be focusing on brands.

The latest brand shoot in Croatia for and the shoot I had for made me realize that helping brands shine makes me so excited. And seeing my work in their social media ads for the rest of the year makes me feel like I provided something valuable for them.

These little troopers. Every weekend they’re right beside us, sacrificing their time and normalcy. They miss their cousins, church, their house, and last night at 3am, the little one woke me up because she missed Alexa 😑.

They don’t know it yet but one day they’ll see why we worked so hard. We do it to spend more time with them. To get daddy out of his really hard 9-5 so he can go to their plays and field trips. They’ll see it soon.

Feeling so grateful. This year hasn’t been easy for many. But the peace we have felt as God has led us down a complete shift in our lives is like nothing else.

If you would have told me in January that I would have sold my house, moved to my dream city, stopped photography, and switched to a completely foreign career I would have looked at you like you were crazy. 2021 was our year.

Who’s sticking around to watch me figure this out? 🤪

This February we went on a life-changing trip to Colorado. A realtor ad on Facebook popped up when we were there and I decided to call her. I don’t know why I did it because we had no intentions of leaving our comfortable home. Where would we go? Plus, We had just fixed the yard, laid concrete and tiled the patio so we could enjoy it for many years.

But she told us what we could get for our house and left us to sleep on it. Our trip made us realize that we wanted to have more time to spend traveling and enjoying each other instead of working 50 weeks a year full time.

We got home and one day I popped up out of bed and thought if we lived in an RV for a while, we could sell our home and invest in real estate so we could stop working the jobs that were draining us.

Hubby went along with the idea because we’re in sync like that. But decided against the rv with the kids cause 🤪.

But God starting moving the pieces into place. Step by step he took our dreams and is making them a reality. Here we are in Cape Coral, one step closer to our goal. We’re on our way to stop trading time for money.

You are loved more than you know. Your girls appreciate you and are so grateful for you. We see you and are amazed at your strength. Happy Mother’s Day!

I know so many who wish their mom was here with them and I don’t take that blessing of having you present for granted.

I went through our old albums looking for old photos of my mom with my sisters and I. There was 1 blurry one of us together in Disney. Time and time again I hear moms say they don't want to be in the photo or they hide behind the whole family. They're not happy with how they look after having kids and don't want to have memories of it. It makes me so sad because I know one day our kids will wish they had a photo of mom.

Guess who doesn't care about how you look. Guess who wants to have a photo of you near them on days when you're out of town or when they have a hard time sleeping. When you hide from the camera, you're taking precious memories away from the ones you love.

👉🏽What have your kids inspired you to do? I was inspired by my girls recently. I mean, I always am inspired. But the past few months of madness, a lot has come up. And have a new love for my girls.

I've had A LOT of mom guilt. I'm sure I'm not the only one.🤦🏽‍♀️There's so much juggling. There's work, house, church, wife, & mom stuff all day every day. I heard too many times, "mom, you never spend time with us." or "Are we ever going to do anything fun with you?"

When I started thinking of things I could do to make them feel more loved, I started writing love letters. Those love letters turned into empowering them. After seeing how grateful they were, I decided to take it into my business and help moms do small things to show their babies that they are more important than work, and all the other things that take up our time.

These girly sessions are a great bonding experience for mom and daughter. Whether you choose to be photographed with your girl or not, just having you here, doing something special for her, makes her see how much you care.

As a mom touched by adoption, this is my passion. I know how much a child who has been adopted needs to feel like he’s part of his new family. Photography is that link that physically shows a child that he belongs. An iphone pic will only go so far. It might get posted on Facebook or Instagram. But does your young child have social media?
