I was lucky enough to stand at the cliff’s edge of the massive Haleakalā volcano in Maui and watch the sun seemingly rise through the clouds. That image is forever burned in my mind. This painting is basically how I remember it. This beautifully framed oil painting is now hanging for all to see

I’ve always been fascinated by landscape paintings but I could never bring myself to actually painting one. This was a challenge that left me humbled. I had to pull from every skill set in the toolbox to make this work. I also decided to go with a gold leaf river which reflects beauty even in a darkly lit room. I will definitely be painting more landscapes. Come down to the gallery to see it in person.

Hello everyone! My brother, JB and I are launching a new company today! It’s an online print and fine art store, a printing service, and an art installation service called Vandelay Art & Design. We’ll be adding original art works and new prints on a weekly basis and we can’t wait to hear what you all think!
